Very cute styling head

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently received this Sunny Day Styling Doll Head and my daughter seemed to have a very hard time styling hairstyles. The crimper doesnt crimp that well. It's a very colorful toy but she lost interest in it way too fast. I hope next time they include more fun accessories .
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fun sunny day styling head

Adorable Styling Head

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing my five year old daughter said was, “Thank you Momma, she is beautiful.” She has been playing with this doll everyday since we brought it home. The hair and accessories are of high quality. She has been trying all sorts of hair styles. We love this toy!

Great toy with great accessories!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Originally picked up this for my youngest daughter (5), but both she and our oldest (8) are having a blast with it! They love the show and playing dress-up, so styling the hair, and their own with the included accessories is right up their alley. They've spent so much time playing with this since we received it, and both are really loving pretending to be hair stylists!

The pink, windowed box with blue lining attractively showed off the product inside.both sides of the packaging show off elaborate hairstlyes on the styling head. I’m not saying they aren’t possible, but we haven’t been able to pull off anything close to them. The back of the package shows a girl playing with the toy and pulling off a much more believable hairstyle on the styling head. There are smartly written product blurbs and two advertisements, one for Sunny Day books and one to the Sunny Day website that promises hairstyling how-to videos. These videos are for hairstyles on real girls—nothing wrong with that—but it would be nice to see some done on the toy styling head.

The toy was well secured to the packaging, but nothing special was needed to remove the toy from the lining. The hair was sewed into a plastic strip that basically can be pulled open like a zipper. It can be tough, but shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to remove.
The Instructions
The instruction page is not very informative. It is one black-and-white page that barely because of the black-and-white small image shows the contents, how to use the crimper, and how to stick the plug-in accessories into the headband or barrettes.

Some more styling tips—how to use the barrettes and elastics, how best to brush the hair, how to braid or bun—would have been appreciated.
The Toy
The toy is fine. The hair is thick but does expose her “scalp” on top pretty easily with little play. This isn’t a permanent issue; the hair can be brushed right back over to recover the scalp.

There is only one thin section of lavender hair on the styling head’s left side that works with the crimper. I thought this would be a bigger issue with my kids, but it hasn’t. I’d like to see more crimping hair or at least a larger section.
My biggest issue with with the toy is that it slides around very easily. Something non-skid on the bottom of the base would make this toy so much easy to enjoy.
My favorite thing about the styling head is that there are more than enough spaces on the base to store the brush, crimper, three elastics, five pop-in accessories, three barrettes, and three spiral-springy things that I’m-not-sure-what-they-are-but-my-kids-love-them.
Final Thoughts
The toy itself is great. My middle child—turning 6–likes it the most. The 8 year old and 4 year old like it enough. This parent loves that the storage is built in. My biggest issue is that it doesn’t come with much styling help. The packaging shows all kinds of high buns, low buns, and double buns but we’ve come nowhere close to achieving these looks. Ponytails: yes. Pigtails: sure. Braids: doable. The cool buns on the packaging: nope.

Lots of great accessories and easy storage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 3 (almost 4) year old daughter's eyes lit up when she opened this! The first thing she said was, "oh purple and pink hair!". Was a little disappointing when she learned she would not be getting colored hair for herself. All was well again though as she began brushing and styling the hair. The accessories are plentiful and the built in storage is great to keep everything together. Great product for any little aspiring hair stylist!

The kids love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is so cute, and unfortunately my kids all fight over it. :) It was relatively easy to remove from the packaging, and comes with lots of little accessories. Only the purple streak works with the crimper.
The scalp does get exposed pretty easily, but it hasn't been an issue. I wish the bottom had better non-skid material. I just put it on a surface that isn't super smooth.
I also like that you can store the small pieces, so we don't lose them as we tend to do.
