Great multiple features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family was given the opportunity to test out the Think & Learn Rocktopus this summer. My 4 year old took to it right away! I liked that the product has several different modes to keep her engaged. Some focus on math, sounds of different instruments, creating their own tunes and a bop it game. It allows her to become familiar with the sounds from many different instruments. She had a lot of fun listening and following direction from the Rocktopus. The toy also allows her to pick and choose which sounds/instruments she would like to hear based on what colorful piece she adds to the octopus's arms. Allowing her to manipulate the pieces and make her own choices was a great feature This product is educational, captivating and fun!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very cool product for the kdis

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I could barely open it with my four and six year old on top of me anxiously waiting to play with product. Very easy to use and hours of continuous fun. Parts are interchangeable allowing kids to be creative and switch up usage. Definitely worth investing in. I highly recommend this product.

Such an irritating voice on Rocktopus

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are three activity buttons. The first is a number game called “musical math” it basically learning to add and subtract from 0-4.
The second button is called “mix and match music” here you can mix up to 4 different instruments and by pressing the red button you can slow down the music or green button speed up the music. Also this is where they say the fact about each instrument like “the piano has back and white keys”
The third button is called “bop and rock”
This is a game where you have to follow instructions and press all the instruments that light up the colored specified at the beginning of the round. I do believe there are five rounds. But my kids never played with it that long to get passed level one.
Pros: educational. It gives the kids a little face about each instrument and a sample of how they can sound.
Con: the Rocktopus voice is soooooo irritating. Wish you could turn it off to make music without him randomly talking throughout. Without this irritating voice this toy would be much improved.
Also there are not enough holders to store all the instruments on the Rocktopus. We have already miss placed two instruments.
The age range seems off. This doesn’t keep my 4 year old interested at all and my 6 year old won’t even bother with it.

Too many choices

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Think & Learn Rocktopus is a toy that my 5 year old son was excited to receive. I'm not sure if it was because of his love of animals, music, or just a new toy, but on a scale of 1 to 10, his excitement level was an 11. He has played with it almost every day since he received it, so it has not disappointed him. However, I have mixed feelings on it.
For starters, the box says ages 3 to 6 on it. I would disagree and say it is for ages 3 to 4. Beyond that, the kid will still have fun with it, but your kid will seem too advanced for it. With the three different modes of play (math, music, and game), there's a lot of great opportunity for toddlers to learn and have fun.
The actual construction of the product is a very solid plastic. The 15 musical instruments are chunky which makes it easy for little hands to grasp and control. Unfortunately, the octopus only holds 4 musical instruments (six with the added tray you attach to the back of it). This leaves you with 9 musical instruments floating around the room, your house, the car, maybe never to be seen again. The variety of the instruments is nice, but there are so many, your child will want to keep swapping them out and will think the game or goal is to swap the instruments and not discover how the instruments sound together.
Overall, it's a great product for younger children, but I wonder how much they actually learn from this and how much they just mash the buttons for the lights.

What a great toy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 3 year old loves this toy! As soon as we received it he wanted it out the box. We took it out and he enjoyed playing with it. He can play for hours at a time and not get bored. As a mom I love that it has 3 different options to play; Instruments & Facts, Rhythmic Patterns, and Attention & Listening Skills. Definitely a toy I recommend.

Wonderful Sound

I see many hours of fun play ahead with this one. The Think & Learn Rocktopus would be perfect for any child from ages 3 and up.

Awesome music system with simple controls

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy is similar to popular music or band builder kids software applications available on some tablets, but has added advantages of being very durable and more interactive. Once the base is turned on and in music mode, you can select different instrument pods and insert them into the arms, and they immediately jump into the current song and begin to play. We had kids between 2-6 years old playing on it, and all were able to quickly pick up how it worked, and all enjoyed plugging in different combinations of instruments to add them to the song and see what the result was. It's advertised for 3-6 year old kids, but I think is probably better for 2-4 year olds, though older kids that have an interest in music and musical instruments will still enjoy. This was one electronic toy where I was actually wishing the volume went a little higher! This is a great toy for 1-3 kids to share and collaboratively build songs with.
Some other thoughts:
Setup - super easy, batteries included, just remove from packaging and play. I was able to get it from the box to playable within 30-60 seconds without scissors or anything else.

Design - With a cool design and lots of colors and lighting, it is pretty good. The instrument pods are numerous and there is only storage for 2 built into the base, so do be prepared to have instrument pods rolling all over.
Durability - Seems pretty kid-proof, except for a little shelf that attaches to rear and holds 2 instrument pods. I think this shelf is optional, and I suspect it will get taken off at some point and lost. The instrument pods are a simple mechanical design with no electronics or batteries themselves, so nothing that can get easily broken by water/drops/etc.
Sound - No annoying repeating sounds, musical tracks are good, and volume is fine if not a little too soft.
I would recommend this to a friend!
