I have no clue why there are so many bad user reviews for this watch. It does what it is supposed to do and well. It is super simple and super stylish. Simply, the best looking Wear-OS watch as far as I know.
It is classy and light-weight. You won't feel you are wearing a watch. It does all that it promised to do. Agreed, battery is not great but show me a Wear-OS watch that has stellar battery life! If you know what you are buying, you will be super happy.
I almost bought a Fossil Sport but at the last moment decided to buy this even though the Fossil Sport's processor is latest (3100 vs. 2100). Fossil Sport itself is a super cute looking watch but Skagen Falster2 wins it comfortably in looks.
Please note that Fossil owns Skagen!

Give it time

This watch is painfully slow when you set it up. One week in, it's humming along and I had 40% left when I went to bed. Not sure if it's self optimizing, but after the updates and setting up my apps, it's a great watch. I wasn't sure about it initially, but always had the 30 days to return. I love this watch and what a steal at $99. If you have the patience, give it a go. I also had low expectations having come from at Moto360 from back in the day. So if you're new to a smartwatch and want a nice entry it, it's the way to go.

Fantastic - For What It Is

It does everything it's supposed to do, and does them well. At least once you get it set up and updated.
I'm the first to admit that the first couple of days with it left me questioning my decision to buy. There were at least 6 system updates - but nothing to tell you what was happening. All I got were two days of rapidly disappearing battery life and inexplicable lag. And I mean LAG. Like 7 second response time lag. OMG it was horrible. I almost returned it.
Then the updates stopped. And the Falster turned into the watch I thought I was buying. The lag went away. The battery life returned. It became a pretty smooth device. With one constant exception. I have a PIN set up to enable Google Pay - and it locks any time you take it off your wrist. So every morning when it comes off the charger I go through the PIN process. It always seems slow going from the PIN: ______ screen to the actual number pad to enter the pin. Every day.
Other than that, this watch is great. I like the design. I like the smaller size, coming from the original Moto 360 it's a BIG change. I like that it's easy to swap standard watch bands if you want. And the silliest little thing that I love about the Falster 2 is the animation that plays when you put it on the charger. It's absolutely silly, but it makes me smile every time. And if your tech can't make you smile, is it worth having?
The instructions for setting it up ARE very sparse. They could do better with those, absolutely. But if you've used other WearOS (or Android Wear if you're upgrading from something really old like I was) devices, it's pretty standard. I like the two customizable hard buttons, and the center crown is smooth and easy to use if you prefer that to swiping on the screen.
It's also nice that you can go into the settings and turn features on/off that you do/don't use frequently to save battery. Don't need the built-in GPS eating mAh? Turn it off. Don't want wifi eating battery? Off it goes! There are a few presets that honestly cover most users pretty well.
After a month with the watch, I have zero issues to report, and don't miss my old 360 at all. This was a great upgrade!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awful

Issues connecting to my phone. Electrical shocks from the charger. GPS stopped working. Had to reset 6 times in a day. Lagging operating system.
I don’t know why I expected so much from a $120 watch. Major let down.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
