It doesn't always light up when I raise my wrist like it did on my series 4. You don't need to upgrade if you have an S4 or S5, it's the same exact thing. The added options they gave you are not useful in any way, so don't be tricked by that. If you're buying for the first time, I'd recommend finding an S4 if you can, because it's just as good and you will get it at half the price of an S6. A lot of people think the always on feature is this groundbreaking feature, but I promise you will not notice at all because when you lower your wrist it goes to a low energy mode where the screen is practically off altogether. They make it seem like it's always on and at least for me, I thought that meant the same as when you are using it as far as brightness, but it's about 20% as bright as that when you aren't using it so it might as well be off. I hope that helps.

Nice to have the latest and greatest but I upgraded from a series 4 with cellular and there is no difference. Battery life was actually better on my series 4. I used my series 4 watch 16-18 hours a day and rarely had it die on me. Series 6 lasts about 12-14 hours with same activity’s done with older model.
