Works really well, found that my Garmin InReach Mini would only charge half way though for some reason. Need to play with it more and see why. Was in full sun with the sundial in the centre of the crosshairs... next will be strapping it to my backpack while I hike tests. Super rugged design thats for sure!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will built product, a few initial teething problems but biolite Customer service are outstanding so hence still the 5 stars. Looking forward to using in more here in Norway. Hope BioLite can make one with a bigger battery at a later date :)

Good except the onboard battery

The product is well designed and easy to use.
However I test several times with the claimed 3200mAh onboard battery by charging it with mini-usb or solar and usually only able to charge my iPhone XS (31xx mAh) half way at best.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lasted roughly two weeks. While doing a long portage on the northern forest canoe trail, I set the solar panel on top of my gear to charge my battery pack while I walked. Checked it about an hour later and the lights were flashing indicating it had over heated. Packed it away out of the sun with the rest of my gear. When I checked it later that night it would not power up or show and charge in the pack. The next day when the sun came up I tried to charge my battery pack but as soon as the panel saw sunlight the lights would flash again signaling it was overheated. Tossed it in the dumpster.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have experienced overheating protection in very sunny days so I was unable to both charge mi iPhone 14 Pro Max and the batter from the solar panel unit. However, If you charge it with the micro usb, there is no overheating problems and unit charged without no problems.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

not functioning out of the box

In having read a few reviews I can see this is a common problem
I am not able to charge either a biolite 80 charge pack nor my iphone 15 pro - immediate problem occurring right out of the box. I see from other reviews that overheating is an issue - but if i cannot charge on very sunny days due to overheating, and cannot charge on low light days due to lack of light, this does not seem to be a very useful idea. Yes, I did ensure I pushed the battery button once in order to charge devices, so that was not the issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Après 18 mois, ne charge plus. J'ai reçu en cadeau, je suis très déçu, j'ai vérifié le prix, ça ne vaut pas le coût. Triste pour ceux qui me l'ont offert. J'ai tout essayé; usb, soleil. Rien à faire 🗑After 18 months, no longer charges. I received as a gift, I'm very disappointed, I checked the price, it's not worth the cost. Sad for those who gave it to me. I tried everything; usb, sun. Nothing to do 🗑
