Doesn't hold temperature

Bought this freezer on September 9th. Since then, I've contacted the store three times in the past month and am promised each time that someone will call me back. No one ever does. Only when I have the temp setting at the Highest (7) level does it even come close to keeping the temp under Zero. That's just not right but no one is willing to help me. This is as much a 1-Star rating on the freezer as it is on the Seller.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there - We are so sorry that your freezer's temperature isn't staying cold enough despite being set on the highest level. This sounds discouraging and we can certainly understand your disappointment.

The first thing to check is making sure that an item inside the freezer isn't keeping the lid from closing completely. Also, when a large amounts of water or hot food have recently been placed inside for storage, the freezer needs some time to reach its selected temperature. More troubleshooting tips for this issue can be found on page 10 of the owner's manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60816-2.PDF.

If the issue persists despite trying out those suggestions in the manual, then we recommend taking advantage of your warranty and scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your freezer. You can schedule service online at: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm or by calling 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737) Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET or Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

Great Service from the manufacturer! My freezer stopped working and within about two weeks I had a new freezer and they replaced the cost of the food lost! I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Great value and perfect size

Reasonable price for a 7.1 chest freezer. Has a small shelve and top hanging basket for grab and go smaller items without having to scrounge around!
