I guess it does what it needs to do.

I recived mine couple of days ago. The build quality on the actual adapor is good but little scroll wheel on the side for the ND filter is very loose. I feel like if a gust of wind blows by it might move... I’m not sure if mine is defective or that’s how it should be.

Great for the EF 11-24mm L Lens

Verified Purchase:Yes
This is a good option for the 11-24mm and 17mm TS-E L lenses. I took one star off for two reasons. The first is that it isn't really useable over the entire ND range. From about 5 stops and up the color shift is very strong and, at the extreme end, pretty much un-correctable. Given the first reason, I fell it is overpriced. I would still recommend it, just understand the limitations.

Not useful as advertised

I rented this to try and was not impressed for a Canon quality product. At higher ND, the color cast is horrendous & irretrievable with post processing. Useful for up to 5 stops maybe but no more than that.

Where are the non-variable options?

Love the size and idea behind this. But, is there a non-variable ND drop in filter for this mount? Like a set of multiple NDs? I can't stand the color shift and increased contrast variable NDs create. I'd much prefer to just carry around a few drop in's at varying ND levels, and have nice ND glass instead of a variable nd.

Color good at low F-stops only

Love the concept of not having to carry and change filters on the front of all my lenses but... I tried out my 1 to 10 stop variable ND filter and anything past 4 stops gives the whole image a blue tint that get more blue as you go up to 10 stops. It is unusable for recording accurate color past 4 stops in my opinion.

Great concept

ND filter on the INSIDE of the camera, and works with any. There should be ND filters built into any camera that does video. The dial is a little easy to turn, and I wish it had a wider usable range. I don't like that I cannot use this technology unless I'm using EF glass. There should be a way to get internal ND into the RF mount some way, obviously not with a mount adapter but some other way.

Total garbage, image ruiner

I don't understand how Canon continues to manufacture and sell this product in good conscience. It causes an absolutely terrible color caste and weird discolored shadows in the corners. I'd thought it was slightly more usable if you don't dial it to the max, but I was just doing some landscapes where I dialed it back just enough that through the viewfinder the images looked OK. But when I got home they were ruined. Imagine if you were on a vacation somewhere you'll never visit again and don't notice your images are ruined till you get home. I hope they'll discontinue the product soon. For many years I had great experiences with Canon products, but most of what I've bought in the past few years had been sub-par. I probably won't be recommending Canon to my clients anymore and I'm considering moving to another manufacturer for my own gear, too.

great but not perfect

Firstly, you can get aftermarket filters that fit into this now. Breakthrough technology makes the best ones.
This is really great, perfect for wides that lack filter threads. A couple times the filter fell out of the holder, exposing the internals of the lens and camera! Not good.
Image quality does not reduce at all by using these adapters! :)
