[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the workmanship. Excellent. The battery backup is also a nice add on. However the missing feature is the clock. I can't control the brightness for the price of the radio it should be available

Compliments my Home Theater System

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased for it's looks and performance, as well as reputation. My home theater system needed something to fill in between the speakers and the television. We also wanted a nice radio to leave on for background during the day. Additionally we wanted a small clock that was lit always so that it could be visible during the night. The Tivoli check ed all of the boxes especially with its incredible design and options of colors. Although somewhat expensive I have learned in my '63 years that you pay once and cry once. We are not disappointed in our purchase.

Almost perfect

I purchased this item for a bedside clock radio Bluetooth. Love the styling, the size, the features and the sound quality, but the inability to dim the clock face was a deal breaker. It’s just too bright. I so wanted this to work, but for the price couldn’t accept that I’d have to figure out a way to block the clock back light. I had to return it. Tivoli, please let me know if you ever update this product so that can dim or shut off the clock light, and I will be first in line to get it. Thanks.

Sound quality is still quite horrible. As it was on the regular radio we just purchased too. But it looks good.

I love everything about the Model Three BT - the analog clock, elegant design, USB connection and Bluetooth functionality and I'd give it 5 stars if the bass and treble were adjustable. There's too much bass for my ear which is fine for music but makes speech hard to understand. I bought it largely for the radio so unfortunately that doesn't work for me.

Most Geniuses are a bit Quirky

Love the MTBT and it will grow on you. Initially was in awe, then amused, then annoyed, and now in a good spot. Going to keep it.Plus Side:- Design and asthetic appeal - did not know that the great Henry Kloss designed it.- Sound is amazing - but have no note that all of the FM stations have a similar "sound" probably due to the speaker and same as any radio. Wonder if the top mount speaker (vs front mount on the non-clock models) has any affect here- Craftsmanship - not just the wood veneer. Take a look at the descriptions on the back panel. There is a straight line drawn to each referenced spot from a place where there's enough room to fully describe the use (no shortcuts here.) Look closer at that simple line - it's etched! Wow.- Tuning Ability. the MTBT pulls in easily all of the low-number PBS stations that that put out enough wattage - I can hear Chicago's famous WFMT effortlessly. My old Boston Acoustics RECEPTOR model radio could not do this - not even with an external Terk antenna. And I don't even need to raise the supplied external FM antenna (a real antenna, not a limp wire to drape over the lampshade.Realities:- The Alarm is not the strong point. It tells you that given the analog nature, the alarm setting can be off a few minutes and to try it a few mornings to perfect it. Yes I can do that but when I have to change the alarm to wake up a bit earlier the next day and think I set it or 6 and it doesn't go off till 615 - yikes. A few times I have even not woken up using the radio only as it was too soothing and it does not default to the signal alarm, or to an increasing volume, unlike my old BAR. - There are no saved stations. So you have to remember the general dial # (not the call letters) if you listen to more than one favorite - and then repeat the fine tuning process (made easier by the yellow signal strength light - just go with that even if it peaks a bit off from what you know the exact station # to be - remember it's analog.- The alarm doesn't have AM and PM. So if you set 6 - it goes off 6 AM and PM. So when you turn off the alarm in the morning - better remember to set it again before bedtime (a simple button,).- The sleep function is wonderful, but only 20 minutes. I can't turn the radio on if the sleep button is light green. Turn that off and turn the radio on and then turn the sleep button on.- The night light is brighter than expected but soothing and think of it as a bedside nightlight when you have to get up in the middle of the night. The music is beautiful and the face is beautiful when all lit up - green lights on for radio-on, alarm set, sleep timer counting down, and the yellow bulb lit for achieving maximum reception. The analog clock face slowly glowing. If you absolutely must get up at an exact time (eg early morning airport), just use your iPhone as the alarm (and you can even charge it overnight plugged in to the USB port on the MTBT).You'll own a classic, quirks and all. Enjoy the love affair.
