The alarm is poorly constructed (doesn’t differentiate between am/pm, beeps before radio, timing isn’t accurate) . The sound is very good . I’ve been looking forward to buying this for years (my friend had a model 1 in Toronto some time ago and I always loved it) but , ya, this is just ok and not worth the investment unfortunately
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I want to love this radio, but....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love everything about this radio. Classic styling, beautiful wood case, analog clock and great sound. Having said this, the alarm is sketchy at best. First radio I received worked for a while but then the alarm clock would periodically not work or active late. Sent back for replacement. Second radio alarm would not activate at all right out of the box! Sent a video of the problem and a third radio was sent. This one seems to be working fine but I will keep using my iPhone as a back up..Also, the clock light is too bright. Should have adjustable brightness.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bluetooth aspects work well. Audio quality is on par with the price. Setting the clock was a process that failed. The clock initially lost 10 minutes each hour. Then it could not be set. And finally, contrary to the instructions, pulling the battery in Bluetooth mode allowed the clock to be set and stay on time. There is no way to dim the light of the clock.The alarm is a 12 hour alarm. Very odd. Read about it in the online manual is the alarm matters to you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A really nice radio. We have had two Model One's for over a decade. The sound is great and the antenna is nice. I would note that we bought the cherry model and the numbers and letters on the face are really hard to see, especially when compared to the white lettering on our Model One's. But a wonderful radio.

High quality clock radio.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent sound. Beautiful cabinet. Tunes in stations quite well even though we are a bit distant from some of the stations we like. Searched everywhere and bought and returned numerous lesser quality clock radios before landing on this one (they seem more focused on having a phone charger on top than providing a good quality radio!). Also, I needed Aux output to plug in wired earbuds to listen when I'm awake and don't want to wake my husband! I couldn't find any other clock radio with that feature. It also has the requisite USB port for charging a device. The only negative is rather personal and not an objection, and that is that the light on the clock is somewhat bright because it is on my nightstand and my face is two feet away. I have to put something in front of the clock to block the light. Otherwise, extremely happy with this purchase--it is worth the price.
I would recommend this to a friend!
