CD player- Yay! but was expecting better sound.

I got this system because there are not many available that still offer a CD player. I know Bose has never bothered to work out there CD player troubles so this seemed like my next best choice. I had a Cambridge Sound works radio that has great sound so I mistakenly assumed that this would also. The Music System has a nifty dial on the back for bass adjustments but I am unable to dial it down enough to get a nice balanced sound. It also then interferes with listening to spoken words, for example the news. The words do not come out clear as there is too much bass.The next issue is that it is very temperamental with power surges despite having it plugged into a good surge protector. The screen shows gibberish when this happens. I have been lucky so far if I unplug the unit for a bit and then plug it back in. This is a similar issue that the Cambridge soundworks had. I feel that for the money I spent on this system they could put a set of directions in there, however they did not, and they could improve the overall sound quality. Aesthetically it would also benefit from having the option of a black power cord. The white color is very distracting and does not complement the unit. I actually called to see if one was available and was told no, it is always white. Interesting choice? I would not recommend this music system until they work some of these issues out.

I had a Tivoli system purchased about 5 (?) years ago, but I let it go when I downsized n a move. Now I no longer need a separate CD player or a Bluetooth ‘gizmo’, but I still hear rich sound. Also, I had great support from the Tivoli people in my purchase.

Great addition to my music life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This table radio is a stereo music maker that pleases me beyond compare. What more could a person want than to be totally entertained by its sound. But remember we are talking about a table radio. It does more with less than any table radio I have ever encountered.

Expensive quality unit, underpowered

I have owned a PAL BT radio for over 20 years. Love that. So when I had the money, I bought the Music System BT. There really were no instructions, except a one-page sheet which identifies some buttons. I had to play around with it to find an option to increase the mid-high ends. Also, the unit seems really underpowered, compared to the PAL radio. This is odd, because the PAL has ONE speaker and the MS BT has TWO front speakers AND a bass woofer. Just not able to crank up the jams. Disappointing for the money. I do like the BT capability, which enabled a quality BT turntable to link up. The MS Bt looks great and works very well, but 1 + 1 does not equal 2. Maybe there is a pre-amp or something to boost the output, but I don't know what that could be.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great looking unit (black & silver)! Good price point for a simple system.I love how it sounds at high volumes for CD’s! The built in speakers are great with the sound moving throughout 2/3 of the (2,500 sq ft) house nicely. However, the lowest ranges are not as crisp or clear. I have moved the unit to several different locations, tried various settings (mono, stereo, and wide), the equalizer is on, and it still is not the best sound it could be in the volume levels of 1-14. I appreciate the remote, very handy and easy to use from my pocket at a good distance when guests come over. The FM radio is struggling with our remote, mountain location... the external antenna has not added a lot of value yet... still trying to work through to a clear non-static sound. I have read the manual several times to identify anything I may have missed. Any suggestions to address the 2 issues would be terrific. Thanks so much!
