I like that when I turn the cooktop on the hood light also turns on. It is plenty powerful for our needs and looks great in our new kitchen.

GE not the same quality as they used to be

Remodeled our kitchen a year ago and bought all new GE Profile appliances and this hood vent. Today the light button broke. We are 2 responsible adults and no kids, so it's not like our appliances are abused. We've had the same part replaced on our gas range 5 times before it was finally right. Poor quality control.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Could be Better

We thought that this hood would be able to pull more of the food smell from the house. However, we learned that unless your exhaust goes out the house, it only recycles the smell/air and spits it out the top. It seems to do the work but could be better.

Filter Issues

I would avoid buying this hood as a recirculating hood until GE can figure out the charcoal filter issue. They recommend changing often but only sell 1 at a time to you. The hood takes 2 filters. They are also very tricky to install.

We want to help go over the charcoal filters for you. The filter on this model is recommended to be changed every 6 months or it is noticeably discolored. You can also order as many filters as needed from our parts website here: https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/spec/WB02X30511
