Disappointed to receive--cheap looking

The frame is a cheap plastic frame. I was expecting real wood, or at least something more convincing as a high quality frame. What is the point of purchasing this tv if the frame is such low quality? I would pay more for better quality options.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

What a disappointment

wow, how disappointing. we ordered the frame tv and separately the wooden frame to go with it. i
expected to get a nice wooden frame for the tv because that’s the whole point of this thing, right?
what we received, however, is the cheapest looking plastic bezel. instead of being excited about having a great piece of furniture which is also a top notch tv, im now waiting to have a tv on my wall that will have ridiculous cheap looking fake wood stuck to it. what a let down. unless i’m somehow able to use a real wood version, i doubt i will keep it. for what it’s worth, id be willing to pay a premium for it, as i am sure, pretty much everyone buying the frame would. of course, that doesn’t produce the same revenue margins, but at least your customers aren’t being let down like this.

I owned the 2017 Model and bought the metal bezels
on March 19, 2021

thoses bezels were fantasicly sturdy and looked the part. now i purchased the 2020 65" model of the frame and the bezels i ordered afterwards are in the mail. so i have not laid eyes on them yet, but the mere fact they went from metal to plastic is a big disappointment. this is mid range tv sold at a premium price because of the design quality. cheapening the design makes buying the frame a non starter.

such a cheap fake plastic. it is not made of wood. why would i hang a plastic piece of ugly frame up on my wall? the whole point of buying this is for the frame. i am returning this tv and the frame. hope your decision to switch to plastic pays this back!

Now made of plastic!

Samsung recently released the new version of the frame which is no longer made of wood. The new model VG-SCFN55LP/ZA is now plastic and the old model VG-SCFM55LW/ZA was wood. Samsung has removed the word wood from the description but not changed the price. You are now paying $180 to put 4 pieces of plastic around your expensive TV. This is supposed to display art work and you can now frame it with plastic. Very disappointed. I would have loved the wood frame and happily paid the premium, instead I paid a premium price for plastic, the new frame is worth about $45.

The difference from TV and art

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The customizable bezel is what completes the frame tv. If you just want a black bezel any tv can facilitate that look. The customizable bezel personalizes the tv to the look and feel of the room.
the bezel snaps into the tv easily using magnets to attach to the tv. There are also plastic inserts to complete the connections so that children cannot easily take the bezel off the tv. This has throughly been tested by my 2 year old with success to the engineers that came up with the design.

No longer just a TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got the Samsung Frame TV, I also ordered the white frame to match the rest of my decor. This was a nice option over the standard basic black the most every TV has. The frame couldn’t be simpler to attach as it just snaps on with magnates and stays put.
If you are like my girlfriend and you like to change things up in the house from time to time, you could order different colors and change them in about 30 seconds when the mood hits.
It is a cool option that allows you to control the style and visual appeal of your TV in a way I haven’t seen before. It is simple, clean and looks great.
