Great for the most part... but no instructions or information about using the supplied Ethernet cables...

No instructions can be found in the box, on Swann's website, or on the internet, about how the camera works using the supplied ethernet cable. When I plug the ethernet cable into my router, the iPhone app can't locate the camera (yes, the other end of the ethernet cable is plugged into the camera...) Also, Swann should have a program, or a website that you can sign into, to view the camera on a desktop PC.
Other than that, the cameras are very clear when using the app. You can't pan or zoom the camera, as it's mounted to the base which screws into the wall.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great security camera

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very nice security camera. It's easy to install and to get set up, anyone can do it! It comes with the stickers to put around the house on windows and such which is nice as well, letting people know your house is secure with Swann security systems! It is well put together and durable- made for the outdoors! The picture quality could be a little bit better but it serves it's purpose. It's affordable as well! The app is super easy to find and to use. I was really impressed with how well organized everything was and how simple it is to navigate. I would recommend trying this out. You are able to keep your home and belongings safe and have a constant eye on things ! Check it out!

Great camera and night vision

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This it a great camera. The video quality is very good for being a 1080p camera, and the night vision can see clearly for quite a distance. It would be nice if there was an option for adding a microSD card for local storage, but it is missing this feature. Also, it has the option to plug in the camera to Ethernet through a wire, but still requires the power adapter and a special cable that carries the Ethernet and power, so if your house is prewired you still need to get in the attic and run another special cable. It would have been nice if they added POE capabilities so you can used the Ethernet cables that are already installed in your house.
I did have an issue adding the camera to the Swann app. It has to connect directly from the phone to the camera by WiFi through its own SSID in order to program the camera, but my phone would not stay connected to the camera. The phone would keep switching to my home WiFi before it could program the camera because the phone saw the connection as not having internet and would switch to WiFi that did. I eventually got it programmed and have not had any other issues since. Overall this is a great camera.

Great camera and night vision

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great camera and night vision. Very good picture quality and night vision range. It is missing a couple of features though, like a SD card slot for local storage and power over Ethernet (POE).
It has a Ethernet connection along with WiFi, and I prefer to hard wire my cameras. But this camera requires a special cable that also carry power from the AC adapter, so if your house is prewired for Ethernet you still need to run the special cable that it comes with. This would not have even been an issue if the camera supported POE.
I had some issues pairing the camera with the app also. It requires your phone to connect directly to the camera that broadcasts its own SSID. All modern phones will connect to the camera, but then it will see that there is no internet so the phone switches back to the home WiFi. This happens fast enough to where the phone switches networks before the app can program the camera. Although, I eventually got it paired and all is working as it should.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This outdoor security camera is great, it is crazy easy to install as it comes with a template to drill your screw holes and they were spot on. It comes with an extra long power cable so you can put it anywhere and route the cord. It was a little difficult to set up the WiFi but once it was set up easy to use with the app.

Excellent security camera

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an excellent outdoor security camera from a respectable brand, Swann. It was easy to install-very quick. I just downloaded the app to my iOS smartphone and we were done. Features I like best were it is waterproof, long enough cable, motion detection works well, night vision is exceptional. Can see faces in detail and all the images are crystal clear and excellent. Coverage is great even at night. I installed this one above our front door to cover the front porch and driveway. Would recommend to all homeowners. Very user friendly.
