Fit for purpose

Have had this system for under a year, which is still under warranty. Purchased Swann because they were well known and I thought their products would be reliable, although their reviews were not great they were the best of the worst. How wrong could I have been. Cameras constantly failing, video going offline, now motion detection has stopped working. Is this camera faults or DVR, who knows, its a matter of call them , try this, try that. Teaching you to suck eggs. At the end of any support calls its send it back and we will have a look, at your expense of course. They will not take your word for it. Sorry I have no trust in your cctv system, and totally unhappy in your support. It was not expensive, but you should still get a reliable product. It has been a pain everytime it has gone faulty calling you, so I will count my losses and purchase a reliable product from another manufacturer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy set up and within 2 hours of camera 1 being up it caught a criminal !!!! Police were impressed with unit too.

Installed easy enough,picture quality isn’t as good as I would have thought. My internet is sky and I have a decent broadband speed,when viewing on my phone it buffers and that’s if I can get a picture. My blink wireless camera out performs my Swann in every way and I can view it from abroad and never buffers

Based on the context provided, we would recommend loading the main-stream footage. This will improve the quality of the image but may reduce loading times. For the best experience, we would recommend both units be connected to a high-speed network.

Although the system does indeed have great vision, we're bitterly disappointed with the system. Only one camera records at anyone time. If there's a trigger motion, the other cameras don't record from other angles. There doesn't appear to be continuous record 24/7. Ie, a fox triggered one camera so it started to record. It moved infant of the next but wasn't picked up as 1st trigger camera was recording. We've purchased a Lorex system (fitted to business premises)in the past which is brilliant. We get a trigger and can review from any of the 5 cameras set up
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

DO NOT BUY!

Wow. The only way to reset your password if you forgot it or mistyped it is to have a computer. The only computer I have is my work one and it won't let me install the software on my computer without my admins permission. So NOW I have to buy a computer

Based on the information provided, you are correct. The password reset can only be done with a computer or Android phone. The MAC address is needed in order to reset the password of your device and this can only be done on a computer or Android device. We apologize for the inconvenience. Setup was easier than I thought it was going to be, and installation is not a lot of work. Choose your camera locations keeping your wire runs in mind, and you won't make yourself crazy trying to figure out how to get the cables to impossible places. Camera image is fantastic, DVR is pretty simple to use following the included setup guides. I fully expect to just "set it and forget it", hoping I don't need to ever review anything recorded, but it's nice to know that should something happen it will be documented, and the sight of the cameras alone is a good deterrent.
