Easy to install but tons of false alerts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just moved into a new house that needs a lot of maintenance and this monitor is just one update to help keep track of utilities and hopefully let us know if we have any water problems. This water monitor was very easy to install on the pipe, stick it on and zip tie it down. However, we currently are using a hotspot for internet service until our house is wired for fiber optic. The spotty service isn't very compatible with this monitor. It took me a while to get it synced to my phone and after several attempts over multiple days I have still not had any luck calibrating it. It detects my pipe, type, and size, monitors it without water, and then has me run upstairs to flush a toilet (monitor is in basement) by the time I do that it says "unable to detect pipe" and starts all over. It obviously can detect the pipe because every time I do a load of laundry or run the dishwasher it says "major leak detected" and then "major leak ended" when its finished. Alerts are constantly going off on my phone so I'll never know if I actually have a real leak. Hopefully when our internet is updated I'll work out the kinks. Until then I'm turning off all the alerts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sat in the box for a week until I had the guts to open it and attempt to install it. I didn’t need to worry the directions were clear and easy to follow. Sine installing I’ve had no problems, and have definitely recommended it to my son in law who also purchased and installed it.

Useful but needs better instructions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A gadget like this is great to have when you are trying to manage your water consumption or catch problems. The biggest problem we had was set up. The instructions are incredibly vague and even when going on the website, the FAQ is hard to find. In addition, if you live in a place like Californian like we do, water pipes are often on the outside of the house not the inside which means we needed more help and will have to take extra steps on our own to waterproof the box for those rainy days that we do have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive to set this up. I did get overwhelmed at first. But once you download the app and follow the instructions ,it's pretty neat to have. Just make sure you have an outlet near the location you install. I have small children a neighborhood full of kids who love to walk away from a running hose, I will feel much better having this monitor in place.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great concept, just didn't work well for us. I am not sure how much different this is than just an alarm that detects water and can sit anywhere, without having to be "installed." Wish this didn't have to be attached.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This water monitor system is really cool. It was easy to set up and put together and it basically does the work itself by measuring the amount of water being used and is a very efficient and easy tool to use.

Easy to Install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Streamlabs water monitor was easy to install underneath our kitchen sink. We are still working on navigating and setting up the app. But I am excited to be able to monitor the flow of the pipe, especially when we are away in case there are any problems.

Straight Up Awesome!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am still not sure how it works but its awesome. Not only do you not need to cut any pipes, but you also get to keep an eye on the utility companies! What more can you ask for? When I first saw the device, I assumed it required pipe cutting to get the true value but instead, it used powerful sensors to track the water usage.
It works with copper and PVC piping which should cover most usages and has a valuable app to compare your metrics too. I haven't had a chance to review it with my most recent bill but it seems to be on track with my averages.
A few downsides are that it does require a power source which could be a deal break for some people and it won't do a great job at finding minor leaks but its a great backup for larger leaks.
