Generally, my wife and I really like this double oven. We’ve owned this oven for about three months. We had it professionally installed and purchased an extended warranty. Installation was easy and it looks beautiful in our recently remodeled kitchen. I love the interior lighting and the baking progress bar that illuminates showing you the progress your oven is making to bake your food. The clock is a very brilliant blue, but has less contrast than our previous oven. This makes the clock difficult to read from more than 20 feet away. Of course, my eyes aren’t what they used to be either.
The Wi-Fi and mobile application are very nice…and very useful. Initially I thought it was a gimmick. But after using it a few times, it proved itself to be a vital feature. For example, I set a roast to time-bake (using previous baking time estimates) and then left to run an errand. I set the oven to bake for a certain period. Delayed on my errand, I could easily check-in on the progress of the roast and even turn it down from my phone remotely. No more dried out pot roast due to a chatty neighbor. I also like to check the progress of bread or cookies from another room or from the pantry to see how much time is left. The only thing is that you must press the “remote enable” as a safety measure before you leave the oven to be able to control it remotely. Nice to know they won’t let you burn your house down from your smart phone. Not very smart.
We’ve used both ovens to bake cakes, cookies, bread, casseroles, turkey, potatoes, pot roast and a variety of other goodies. Both my wife and I cook, and this double oven has worked well for both of our baking styles and recipes. My wife likes the lower oven and I prefer the top oven due to our height difference. The glass is easy to see through and the interior lighting is great when checking for brownness without opening the oven door. Soufflés come out beautifully.

Both ovens do very well on all bake settings (conventional and convection). The built-in temperature gauge works well in both upper and lower ovens. It is very accurate on roasted meats and poultry. The front panel is laid out nicely and is easy to understand and control without opening up the manual.
After one or two dishes spilled over (normal when you cook like my wife does) we had to set the cleaning cycle on the upper oven. The cleaning cycle worked great, but the first cycle produced a lot of outgassing from wires, oil and whatever else is in the electronics section. It got so bad we had to leave the house with windows open while the cleaning cycle finished. Uggh.
After the first cleaning, I tested the temperature accuracy of both ovens with a digital thermometer and both of them tracked nicely with the oven’s temperature settings. I measured it at several temperatures 200, 250, 300, 350, 375, 400 and 425 degrees and all of them were within + or – of 15% of the set temperature. The evenness of the baking in both conventional and pretty good. The multi-sheet mode works pretty good too. The bottom sheet always seems to be a little less brown than the upper when making cookies, but I just take out the top sheet and let the bottom sheet bake a minute or so longer and they turn out perfect.

The one thing I don’t like are the racks. To put it bluntly, they are lousy. Yes, they can stay in the oven during a cleaning cycle, but that is their only redeeming factor. They are difficult to put in and take out. Your scratch and bend stuff getting them in and out. They won’t slide smoothly (if at all) and get hung up in the back of the oven by these little tabs that stick out and interfere with the safety stops built into the racks themselves making it hard to pull them out when heavily loaded.
I know the racks were designed for safety, but they are substandard, get hung up regularly and don't slide easily. I had to put lube on all the rails and all the racks after cleaning to get them to even function and slide. The bottom rack in the bottom oven is on bearings so it moves in and out great, but the others are horrible. My wife wanted to return the whole oven based on the poor rack design.
I talked her out of it after lubing all the racks and rails and bending the safety tabs a bit to get them to install and remove more easily. It is a flawed design, and with how much you change racks, it is almost a complete show stopper. If it weren’t for the other super nice features, I would have purchased another high-end brand oven and returned this one, paying very close attention to the rack design. Hopefully I won’t regret keeping this oven after a year or so of use. Only time will tell.
To the GE Café rack designers…you really should call my wife and apologize for your design and look a replacing them with something more thoughtfully designed. Other than the bad racks…a solid effort…I’ll give you 3 out of 5 stars. 5 of 5 if you can make amends on the racks.

Sleek and Efficient!

Bought this oven two weeks ago. It replaced a GE Profile. Improvements/features over the previous oven are great: 2 double convection ovens, 3 well-positioned lights in each, crisping feature AND it cooks faster than the previous oven. Additionally, it fits in the same space - no retrofit necessary. The look is sleek, the glass windows are large - as of this writing, I love my new oven!

We have only had this oven for about a month, and so far it has performed very well. My only issue is the oven racks that are not on sliders. They are a little clunky to slide in and out, and you sometimes ave to giggle them a little to insert the last inch or so. That said I love the wifi feature because it tells me on my phone when the timer is finished so I don't need to be in the kitchen to listen for the tone.

Two ovens are best!

We've been using this double oven for about a year now and have had good results with it. It performed flawlessly baking our 1,200 Christmas cookies last year. We are still experimenting with the convection baking. A couple of complaints I have is that the buttons are not easy to see...not enough contrast. Backlighting on the buttons would have improved that problem. It's better now that we know where the buttons are but we still have to look closely.

Love my GE Café oven. Incredibly quiet. Love the remote wireless feature. Alarms alert my iPhone and Apple Watch :). Can leave racks in during self clean and it cooks evenly! Love it!
