Looks great, doesn't last!

Looks great, worked great for about a year and a half and then completely failed! Installed in our kitchen during a complete remodel with all CAFE appliances. Now we either need to replace it with another and hope it lasts longer, or redo the tile around it.
I can't recommend this, there is no way it should be dead with the light household use we have used it for.

Changing the hood lamps

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s the day after Christmas and while I should be in a good mood, I tackled the project of replacing the hood light on my café hood, a task that I’ve been putting off for weeks. My prediction couldn’t have been more correct. It took me three or four tools, pain to my fingers, forcing something that shouldn’t be forced and 45 minutes until final triumph to have that come down. Now I’m experiencing a new challenge which is separating the lamp wire at the connection where it should come free without any issue. I’ve given up in hopes that a guest who is coming to my house tonight who is an engineer tonight can figure it out. I will never never buy a café hood again for this reason alone. We are within the first 24 months of the use of the hood and both lights have blown, and I’ve had to go through this twice. Proceed with caution with this type of hood. It looks great, but it shouldn’t be this much of a challenge to change a light.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Light bulb replacement difficult

Lightbulb and lightbulb housing replacement not easy burnt out in the first year ended up taking the whole assembly out because couldn’t get to the bulb itself. Also, GE is making me go through all of this to register my product, but I don’t see how to order replacement parts.

Appliance has not been installed yet. Kitchen remodeling has not started, so I can not comment on the performance or features of the appliances. However:
1. Only the drawer Microwave CWL112P4R1WS and Wall Chimney Vent Hood CVW73014M1WM included the Owner’s Manuals. The Chimney Hood literature package was complete. Not true for the other noted appliances.
2. I am surprised that the kit did not include the charcoal filterJXCF71

Mounting hardware terrible. Looks great!

We wanted something slim and simple. Looks great. Not happy with mounting brakets. The brackets for the hood cover are about 3/8 inches to narrow. Had to shim out to get the hood to mount square and look right. The screws are also not white to match the hood…doesn’t make sense. Had to buy white screws to match….some very simple things that GE needs to fix.
