We received our new vent (still waiting for our range to be delivered even though it was ordered in December 2020) this summer. We used it a total of 3 times before the motor completely burned out! At least GE was responsive in replacing it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Finally got this bad boy installed along with my whole suite of Cafe appliances and it really makes a statement (along with all my other appliances). It's a vent hood, but this one is commercial quality and man it WORKS. LOVE the Cafe line!

Beautiful

We just finished building our new house and we bought a package of GE Cafe appliances. The professional range hood was one of the items. It is beautiful. It operates very quietly. It has four speeds for the exhaust fan. I normally use the medium low setting. This exhaust hood really compliments our beautiful new kitchen and home.

Range Hood works great!

We just built a home and wanted the Cafe appliances in our new home. We really wanted a Chimney style hood over our range but we wanted the Cafe appliances and this was the hood that matched. When we got it, we were not impressed with the look as it appeared very industrial looking. However, once it was installed, it actually looks very nice over our cooktop. And most importantly it works great!

Awesome look and function, weak filters

Love the look, love the functionality. The light works great and it's great to have a high and low light option. The fan settings are excellent as well and you can dial in based on how much work you need it to do. It was a bummer to have to purchase the stack piece separately (nice little extra expense), but the only real piece of critical feedback thus far is that the filters themselves are pretty poorly designed. Much like a commercial kitchen the click into place, but the aluminum housing around the outside isn't strong enough to withstand much force so the very first time I took the filters out to wash them, one of the filters collapsed in on itself and I had to spend a few minutes trying to poke the mesh filter part into the aluminum surround piece. I managed to make it work, wash them and get them back in, but it definitely makes me nervous about the long-term durability of them. I haven't looked into the cost of replacements, but I'm sure it's not cheap!

Great hood, but my colors are off

I really like the look and the function of the hood. I wish it had better lighting though. The biggest issue I'm having is that the hood looks more like a charcoal gray rather than black. Once the chimney was installed, it became very noticeable as the chimney is very black. We have island lighting that is black and the chimney matches it perfectly, but the hood color really stands out as being more gray. It's really hard to look at the kitchen and not notice it. It's kind of a bummer.

Great hood

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked it had fan settings that were quiet and not a roar as other fans. Nightlight and cooking light was a plus. Easy to use.
