It does the job

Initial install the fan motors were defective, very, very noisy. GE sent techs out who confirmed defective and ordered replacement fans. Problem is, techs said they couldn’t replace the fans/motors w/o removing the entire hood, which they wouldn’t do. Pointed out to techs hood does NOT Ned to be removed to deinstalled/reinstall the fans. They weren’t interested in listening. Called my handyman guy to come give me a hand and the fans were replaced w/o removing the hood and now works fine. Product is good, GE customer service & tech are awful.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not worth the price

I bought it some time ago with d/w, stove, advantium oven etc
Our kitchen redo took a long time… the hood is missing the flu ( you have to order it separately and they aren’t available!!) the hood is no where up to the high output burners on the range… my kitchen is constantly full of smoke, grease and smoke alarms blaring…

This Hood Really Sucks! But That is a Good Thing!

We have a propane cooktop and even when we sear steaks or blacken fish all the smoke and steam goes into the hood. Great addition to our kitchen. New construction and we went with all GE Cafe' appliances.

This hood makes the kitchen!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we designed our new kitchen, we knew we wanted stylish and stunning appliances as well as a hood that's a showstopper. Thanks to Café, that's exactly what we created! This hood really completes our kitchen. It vents incredibly well while I'm cooking. However, the feature I think we use the most is the lighting on it. We love the soft light at night in the kitchen. If you have the room for a hood, add this for sure. Coupled with the double oven, it's truly breathtaking! Hard to believe appliances can be breathtaking, but they can be when it's Café!

Beautiful & Quiet

We purchased to go along with our GE Cafe range. Very easy to install and functions great. I cook everyday and wanted appliances that not only looked good but worked. And so far, all is great. We replaced our microwave/vent hood with this unit and couldn't be happier. It is much more quiet and vents so much better than the microwave/vent hood did. The light is bright. We purchased the extender due to our ceiling height. It looks good. But, wish it had an option to come in the same width as the vent itself. It wasn't a deal breaker though. Just think it would have given the vent hood an even prettier presence in our kitchen.

Works better than expected!

This may be my favorite piece of my cafe lineup! I had doubts since the rest of the set is extremely overpriced but this hood works wonders and looks great above the range in our new kitchen! It's loud on high, but you can't expect less. I only use high when searing meat, otherwise the other settings aren't nearly as loud.
I would recommend this to a friend!
