False/misleading advertisement

In the video ad for this machine, it shows the tub full of water, (deep fill) and substantial agitation. However, the ONLY cycle that provides this is the “Bedding” cycle. Now, the manual clearly states that “deep fill” is not available in the “normal” cycle, yet the button to select “deep fill” lights up as though you will get this in “normal”; it also lights up if you select it and the machine is in the “whites” cycle, as well as the “power wash” cycle; yet the tub does not “deep fill”! Now, let’s talk about “agitation” or rather the lack of it. The only cycle that provides adequate agitation is the “bedding” cycle. In that mode, the agitator turns back and forth very rapidly; it appears to be moving almost 720 degrees, or two complete turns in both directions. In every other mode, it turns at about 1/2 the speed, and only 360 degrees; so very little agitation. I will say that in the “bedding” mode, our clothes seem to be very clean. As for recommending this machine, I probably would decline to do so.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST WASHING MACHINE EVER!!!!

I ordered this machine in April 2018 from my local family-owned appliance store. They only sell appliances that are made in the USA. I wanted the largest capacity washing machine so I could wash a king-size comforter. We live in Hawaii and have a lot of house guests who go through bath towels and beach towels and sheets like crazy, and I wanted a machine that could handle all those large, heavy-duty loads as well as small, delicate loads. I thought I had found the perfect washing machine.
The first problem I experienced was that Maytag jerked us around for SIX MONTHS before they finally shipped my washing machine. It was finally installed in November 2018.
At first, I was happy with this model. I was able to wash 8 large beach towels in one load! But within a couple months, we started noticing that clothes were coming out dirtier than when they went in. T-shirts were coming out covered in lint, hair, dirt, and grease! We called and asked for a repairman to take a look at the machine. He said they were getting complaints about this model, and he told us to use the DEEP FILL setting for every load. DEEP FILL makes no difference in the outcome of the load for us — everything is still coated with lint and hair and dirt. We have tried reducing the size the load so that everything gets adequately agitated — which also has made no difference.
I am beyond disgusted with this machine and with Maytag. I have had Whirlpool, GE, LG, and Sears model washing machines, and even the cheapest, most basic machine I’ve ever had has done a far superior job than this overpriced lemon. I have been in contact with my local appliance dealer/service store, and I am demanding that Maytag make this right. This machine needs to be hauled away to the dump, and Maytag owes me a machine that operates correctly.

The worst washer I have ever owned!

We bought this washer a little over a year ago (and the matching dryer a few months later). I cannot tell you how disappointed I am that we went with this. I would have rather spent money fixing my front loader Samsung that I had for 7 years that worked WAY better broken than this new thing. I am a mother of 6 (kids 11 to 2) and I have to wait an hour and a half for one wash to get done. Then once it's finally done there are always always always marks on my clothes, especially my darks. Then I have to sort through all of the marked clothes and rewash them sometimes twice to remove the spots from them! I thought it was because my washer was dirty but I used the suggested cleaner and cleaned it and nothing has changed. This machine only causes set backs to my day and laundry has become a huge frustration. It's frustrating that there's nothing I can do. I can't return it and it would be a hassle to sell it and buy another. I hate the dryer, too! It is advertised as energy efficient and the one and only option that uses that mode leaves my clothes wet after an hour of drying. What a waste of money!

I bought this unit about 20 months ago it worked well for about 11 months then the main board went out and would not not power on any more I got it fixed under warranty and everything has been good until tonight when I went to wash my clothes and it would not power on so I guess I’m gonna have to pay to fix it this time or pony up big bucks for a new washer so I don’t have to keep fixing this one

The best washing machine

We just purchased our second Maytag washing machine. We replaced a 5.3 capacity washing machine that recently broke. Luckily we purchased the extended warranty and was able to replace with a newer model. We are a family of 5 and have 3 children. We need a machine that can wash several loads at a time. I am very impressed at how quiet the machine is. Our previous one did not have an agitator, very happy this one has it. We have washed comforters and sheets. This size washing machine made this wash seem so easy. I would highly recommend to any large family. Great purchase!

Quiet energy and water efficient design BUT....

This machine was obviously engineered well - it's quiet and very environmentally efficient. I'm sure it will last me forever but I despise it. I eat dinner in front of the television and I often drip grease on my shirts. This washing machine will NOT remove the stains. I know it is the washing machines fault because I had a top load whirlpool that always got rid of these stains. I use the same detergent and same oxyclean but I cannot get my shirts clean without spraying them first with Shout and even then it's a cr@p shoot. Why does this machine less clean clothes? I'm guess because it uses much less water (a commodity that is not scarce where I live) and has no agitator.
Why am I complaining? Because this machine cost way more than the completion but doesn't deliver compared to yesterday's machine costing 1/4 of the price. I am not saving water or energy because if I missed the stains, I have to re-wash the clothes. Almost everything requires shout. Should I throw the shirts into the dryer by mistake...the stain become permanent and then I need to by a new shirt. I hate this machine.

It doesn’t move the clothes like it should

It doesn’t move the clothes in the drum like it should. Maytag you dropped the ball on this Washer. Its a really good looking unit but the agitator does not move the clothes in the drum like my old unit did. To have it move in a clockwise motion from 12 o’clock position to 12 then back to 12 is not smart. It can’t get the clothes in a full rotation. This is why you buy a washer with a agitator......To move the clothes around not just up and down a few inches around the agitator!! Before it went to rinse I stopped it and I opened the lid and had a shock that wasn’t even wet yet???? I tried power wash, I tried whites setting and that agitator movement is a joke. Go back to the oldschool setting and keep it going around in a circle not just back and forth. Don’t tell me I have to roll my clothes in a ball and put them next to the agitator REALLY? You should be able to put your clothes in like any other normal washer and it should do it’s job. Very disappointed with your product!!

Not what I was expecting

I have had my washer for over 1year now. At first when I started to use it, I was trying to adjust to the settings, thinking I was not using them right. The I moved on to trying different detergents. I even resorted to using more natural ways of doing my laundry like using Vinegar. I have kept up with the maintenance and cleaning with Afresh. After so much time and So many different tries, I now have come to the conclusion that the machine is just not cleaning my clothes as it should. I stuck to a top load with an agitator with higher expectations, compared to what I had heard of those front loads, but I am highly disappointed. My husband had wiped some sticky greens from my grandsons nose. Needless to say his white shirt was dirty! I had washed it and when I grabbed it out of the dryer to fold it, it was almost as if that spot had not been touched... Dirty! The same thing happened with a towel we used to wipe some stuff of the floor, It was hard and stiff. When I washed the towels that One towel still came out feeling hard and stiff. Imagine Jelly on a towel dried and stuck, that’s what it felt like before the wash and after. I wish at this point that I could return it! Waste of money and a waste of time trying to figure out, what I thought I was doing wrong.
