I don't like the one piece grids covering the burners-I find them difficult to move and thus it's hard to clean the top of the stove. Also DO NOT appreciate the fact that there's no light in the oven.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Linda310,
Thanks so much for taking the time to write out your feedback here, we appreciate it!
We will be sure to share this with the product design team for designs of future products.
Just purchased the range and took delivery a few days later. On inspection, it appears that several sheet metal screws are missing from the back assembly. Could be per design but screw holes are provided for back panel sheet metal which is loose. Range has not been installed yet so no comment on performance.
Need to replace and Electric range and wanted to convert to gas. After looking at the reviews I went with the Hotpoint and I'm very happy with the choice. I do wish that it had some sort of indicator to let you know that the oven was on.
I bought this range because it was recommended by my appliance repair person and seemed to be of the best quality among the brands available in a 20" size. So far it seems to work better than the range that we had. I only wish that it had an oven window and a light.
Just received this GE/Hot Point Range today. The design has improved significantly from my last GE/Hot point range. There are 3 larger burners and 1 small burner to accomodate different size pots. In addition, the burners are enclosed to keep food from dropping inside which makes for much easier cleaning. Easier to read front panel. I am very happy with my new unit
