Huge track set, hours of fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Thomas & friends Super Station was very easy to build, the instructions gave you 3 or 4 different options on how to set the tracks.
My kids decided they wanted to build it the way it was pictured in the box but it’s easy enough to change it around if you want to. There will be some extra pieces depending on which track set you choose to build.
Building it was a lot of fun with my two little helpers and they’ve enjoyed playing with it for hours after it was done. It comes with 3 trains and a helicopter but it also works with hot wheels cars and 1:55 scale Disney Cars from Mattel.
It does take a big space once built so make sure you clear some room for it before assembling it.
Highly recommended, my two boys (7 & 5) have spent tons of hours playing, racing with it since we built it.

Awesome train set!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This train set is huge it can be set up for a small set. Medium or Large. We have set it up as all three types. My son loves the largest setup where you can have two race tracks. It has brought good quality time to us because he wants me to race against him.

We bought the superstation for our son's birthday 5 months ago, but the trackmaster trains slide when they turn to left or right, and when we connect the trackmaster tracks the trains just derail... Very frustrating for my 4 years old .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

OK set, no extra tracks available on market

Our kids wanted Super station for Minis. We own quite a lot of old Trackmaster trains and tracks and some new. It is an impressive set. Holds some interest for maybe half an hour. Like everybody states battery operated trains derail down hill. In order to close loop on the bottom and not derail, we added at least one full straight and one half length straight before closing the loop. Now; the extra tracks we used are all new type (also connectors for the old type are also provided in box), but are different from Super station tracks. On new normal tracks minis and midi trains can't operate (they get caught between high tracks ridges), the battery ones drive without problems. Wish Mattel puts this Super station ridge tracks on market. Also the top level is kind of uninteresting. It would be perfect if it closed a circle so non battery operated trains can go in loop. It is still a very nice set with limited possibility for expansion. Also old trains can't go up the new track hills, as well as new trains can't go up the old track hills even with bottom adjustments. That would be not much of a problem if they made better selection of new r/c operated trains. This set is probably the most interesting that is now available on market.

My husband and I bought this set as a Christmas present for my two boys who already have 3 other (smaller) Thomas playsets. Because this set is supposed to be compatible with Thomas & Friends Adventures, TrackMaster, MINIS, and Wooden Railway engines, we thought it would be a wonderful way to bring the boys’ multiple sets together. Unfortunately, the TrackMaster engines do not transition from the “closed” tracks that come with the SuperStation to the “open” tracks that come with the other TrackMaster playsets, and the transition pieces do not make a difference. We have tried to set up different patterns with the tracks over and over, but the TrackMaster engines continue to derail. When we saw the SuperStation set at the store, the pictures on the box lead a purchaser to believe many sets can be combined for endless play, but the pictures do not represent the limitations of the SuperStation.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The only Christmas gift my son wanted

My son loved this when he seen it in a commercial and when he got it for Christmas he was so overjoyed and still wants to play with the train station, doesn’t even want to go to sleep. I think this is a great gift for a child that loves Thomas.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Thomas Super Station is huge! It takes up a large amount of space when set up in the Dual Raceways layout, but it worth it because it has so much playability that it keeps my boys busy. They love it! My youngest absolutely loves Thomas so this toy was a great fit for him. It has all the major parts of Sodor so that he can play out is favorite Thomas and Friends scenes. My oldest, who is "past" his Thomas phase, loves playing with his little brother on this set. Honestly, there is so much for each of them to do that they can enjoy each other and the Super Station without ever getting in each others way.
We set up the first layout with the dual race ramps and the boys connected the track and had a blast watching Track Master trains go down the ramp and then chug back up to the platform. They could do this all day! In fact, we have already had to replace the batteries in Thomas once after many hours of chuffing up the hill.
The included track fits perfectly together with other iterations of Trackmaster track allowing my boys to create layout after layout all over their room. It is always nice when you can merge older sets into the newer versions.
The science application of this toy is also awesome. My boys played with adding cars to the Trackmaster trains (cars not included) to see if the trains could stay on the track and make it back up the hill of the dual raceway ramps. Of course, they are not aware that they are actually doing physics experiments!
My youngest loves hanging all of his minis around the base of the station because it allows him to admire his collection. He also appreciates being able to use his whole collection of old school Take and Play trains. Honestly, as a parent I love everything about the Super Station because it keeps my kids busy and engaged!
Now for the parents: set up was easy and actually pretty quick. The directions were well organized and easy to follow. You only need to apply a few stickers. Keep the layout maps because it is possible to make this in a variety of configurations.
