15.6" LG Gram is delightful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a computer systems integrator for 30 yrs and part of my job is to recommend hardware when clients ask. I purchased a 15.6" LG Gram for myself and I couldn't be happier and have been recommending this unit right and left. It is powerful but light as a feather without comprimising on display size. About the only thing that I could ask for is the ability to add an manufacturer extended warranty & perhaps some certified thunderbolt docks (LG or 3rd party)........ but these are not deal killers. I was concerned that such a light laptop might be flimsy, but I am please to say that it is solid. Go buy one.

I am over the top pleased with it. The quality it first rate. I work for a major corporation and the IT representative at my office had a look at it and he too was impressed. It was the first LG laptop he saw and he was glad to learn of it.

It still amazes me when I turn it on from being completely shut down, to being logged in and opening whatever program in 5-7 seconds. Another thing that I love about this laptop is how light it is, yet it feels sturdy and very well built.

No gigabit connectivity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although the product description says "gigabit" for LAN connectivity, you cannot achieve gigabit speeds through a wired gigabit connection with this laptop. Oddly, WiFi speeds are much faster than a hardline with this model. The max for hardline connection is 100 Mbps; wireless went up to 300 Mbps. Hardline is preferable for stability. This laptop was tested using the same connection as other laptop/desktop which could achieve over 900 Mbps for uploads and downloads, so the issue is not the connection. This is the only major downside to this laptop. Unfortunate that the product description is misleading.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a fast, powerful laptop computer large enough for mostly home use that's light enough to travel easily. With a 15.6" screen, 16 GB memory, 512 GB solid state storage, and long-life battery, at 2.5 lbs this LG fills the bill nicely. The touchpad and keyboard (including a compact numerical keypad) are all comfortable and responsive. With ample outut ports (3 USB standard and one USB C plus others), this computer should serve my needs well for years to come. Though pricier than some, I consider it a good value at current discounted price.
