Braun S3 3080

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has been over 30 minutes since I used my Braun S3 for the first time. Out the box, the S3 had enough juice to shave an army. No assembly necessary and if I wouldn't read the instructions, I still would've been able to use it effortless. This shaver is well designed and it is comfortable to hold. The ergonomic design shows the desire to please the buyer. I typically wait a few days before I post a review on an item, but the S3 exceeded my expectations. My face does not burn at all as when I use other razors or shavers. I don't feel bumps developing under the skin. I can use this shaver while I am dressed for work without fear of making a mess. This Braun S3 for the size, price, and versatility, I give it a 5 out 5.

Decent, but....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, I've used it for 2 weeks daily, and it doesn't cut near as close as what they lead you to believe. Only reason for 3 stars was for the comfortable shave, comfortable grip, and the flip up shaver, which I found extremely useful.

Decent - for what you sacrifice

I've been using bladed razors since the beginning, so I was more than excited to give the Braun Series 3-3080 a shot. On appearances alone, it's a beauty. Its sleek design and color profile give it a sense of power and quality. Plus the options it has to customize your shaving experience (the trimmer, the ability to use three or two foils) make it very versatile. The trimmer is phenomenal! I now finally have a way to trim my mustache and beard with the precision that I'd been lacking for many years. The trimmer, unfortunately, is also the razor's saving grace with my rating. The razor's main purpose - to shave my face - is lackluster. It may be that, as the box states, it takes a few shaves, so I will update if this changes, but as it stands right now, the Series 3-3080 just doesn't shave as closely as I like. It remains to be seen if this changes and I sincerely hope it does because I like everything else about the Braun Series 3-3080.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shaver includes a small docking station for charging, coiled electric cord, cleaning brush, travel case and user manual. The case is really nice because it's soft on the outside but is reinforced in the inside so it's crush resistant. It's good for travel and general storage. The electric cord is a good length and it's coiled so it will stretch a lot more. The docking station is rather small and simple but it charges as it should.
This shaver is what I would say if the typical size for a Braun shaver. It is a little longer than some of the other brands. I like that the shape of it feels natural and the entire side panels and bottom are covered in a textured rubber or silicone cover. This makes it very easy to hold on to when compared to plain smooth plastic. It has a slide out trimmer on the back that works great for touch up jobs like trimming around the ears.
This shaver can be used wet or dry. I normally dry shave and that's primarily how I use this shaver and it works great. However I have also taken it in the shower to try a wet shave. I like a wet shave too it's just different. I feel like a wet shave is even more comfortable and maybe even a little bit closer shave. However sometimes it's harder to get those stray hairs that like to lay down so they don't get cut. Without a mirror it can be a little more difficult. My point is that it will work wet or dry and how you use it is a matter of preference.
Compared to other Braun shavers that I have used this one has a better set of blades and foils. It has two foil covered blades on the outside and then a long hair trimmer on the inside. The foils really move a lot to meet the shape of your face. The foils are very thin the blades move at a good speed. The combination of these features gives me one of the best shaves I have had for years. If it's been a few days since you shaved you can push a button and the front foil will lower to allow you to use the long hair cutter to cut most of the hair first. This shaver allows me to shave quicker than with some of my other shavers and it shaves really close and is comfortable to use. I had one other shaver that gave me a closer shave but that was any years ago and it had adjustable blades so you could get an ultra-close shave. But this shaver is one of the best that I have used in the last few years. There are no gimmicks, just a well-designed, good quality shaver that gives you a close and comfortable shave.
Visually speaking this is a very cool looking shaver. Itâs black on the sides with a glossy black front. It has chrome trim around the blades and the top is my favorite color blue. The front panel also has indicator lights that tell you the amount of charge that is left in your battery so you know when to plug it in. I personally leave mine plugged in on the docking station all the time so itâs always at full power. The battery is said to hold enough charge to run for 45 minutes which is plenty for me but I did notice that they put a lower quality Ni-MH battery in it instead of a Lithium Ion battery. Again it doesnât really matter to me because I always keep mine charge but it may matter more to some people, especially if they travel a lot with it.
Overall I really love this shaver and it has definitely become one of my all-time favorites. Itâs not that it does anything super fancy but I like how well it works and its design. I would highly recommend this shaver.

Braun Series 3-3080

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only tried the Braun 3-3080 a few times since I received it free from Braun. My first reaction was it did not "shave" as close as it should. The foil cutter head pulled longer hairs instead of cutting them. The hair trimmer does a great job at trimming hair. I've used it both "dry" and "wet" for shaving. Being able to get the whole shaver wet is a good thing. I think it does a better job when the foil shaver head is wet. I've used the precision mode and I think it helps getting a closer shave. Overall I've owned worst cordless shavers and better cordless shavers in the past, this Braun is an overall good shaver but not a great one.

A Close Shave Every Time

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had received a free Braun Series 3 razor from Braun to try and it worked great. Of all the razors I had used in the past, either manual or electric, this one is the best. I got a close shave every time I had used it no matter how I used it, wet or dry. The razor never made my face burn or felt like it was just ripping hairs out like others that I used in the past. The razor is durable and looks like a high quality product. It is very easy to take apart to clean. It charges up quickly and the battery last a long time on a single charge. The precision mode makes shaving around my upper lip and neck area easier and more comfortably then other razors. The long hair trimmer works perfectly on side burns. Overall the Braun Series 3 razor provides the perfect shave every time.

Perfect for an On-The-Go Lifestyle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prior to receiving a free Series 3-3080 electric shaver from Braun, I had never shaved with anything but cartridge and disposable razors. I was skeptical of how close of a shave they could provide, how much pain they would inflict, how much maintenance they would require, and how inconvenient and/or expensive they would be to power. I was pleasantly surprised with how well this shaver works. It cuts right down to the skin without any pain or hair-pulling, and leaves my skin very soft and smooth. I don't grow a very thick beard so my face isn't much of a challenge for this shaver. Shaving is quick and easy. I also like to leave the stubble a bit longer on my mustache and chin areas, which made this shaver even better because it has a "long hair trimmer" that can be pushed up and used to fine-tune sideburns or create a more stubbly shave. I drive for a living and am always running out the door on short notice, and I've brought the Series 3-3080 along with me a few times for an on-the-go shave. It's the perfect tool for this purpose because it collects all the hair trimmings in its easy-to-remove head. It can then be tapped out into the trash and run under water for cleaning. Plus, it comes with a hard-shell zippered travel pouch so it doesn't get damaged when I throw it in my bag. I've been using this shaver for well over a month and the battery shows no sign of needing a recharge. It has a lot of power for a cordless item and comes with a charger and stand. My only complaint is that I can't confidently shave around the sides of my sideburns to narrow them because the shaver isn't really designed for precision cuts - I still bring out my cartridge razor for this.
This is a product that will probably become a part of my regular shaving routine - it's that good. The only reason I did not give it a fifth star in my rating is that it cannot completely replace my cartridge razor. However, it makes a lot of shaving aspects much easier and more convenient for me. It is a new tool in my arsenal.
