I have better luck with disposable razors...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not a fan of this shaver. The concept is great, I love that you can use it wet or dry. It's very easy to take apart and clean and also has a great battery life. That's about all the positive things I can say about it unfortunately.
I was so excited to receive this shaver! It looks great and even comes with a handy carrying case. But lets be honest, it does not work well at all. I've given it a few chances now, both with and without shaving cream, and it just doesn't cut it. It shaves some hair off but leaves a lot, even after several, several passes. So I gave up on it! I then gave it to a friend of mine who keeps a beard most of the time and would need something for trimming and the occasional full shave. He had the same luck as me. Not good. Sorry to say, I'll be sticking with disposable razors!

Nice electric razor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This razor is amazing. I have used other electric razor and I feel as they don't get it cut the way I enjoy it. Being able to use it wet or dry is great. The edgers is great. I enjoy this razor and tell everyone to use it. It took a week or so for my face to really get adjusted to the razor. This electric razor feels just like a razor.

Braun vs. Norelco vs. Gillette
on December 1, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] During this time of year where we think back of what we are thankful for, I’m always thankful when BzzAgent gives me the opportunity to try a new product.
When I shave, depending on the need, occasion or location, I use both an electric razor or a Gillette Fusion Flexball Power razor. I’ve been using a Norelco for approximately 15 years so I was excited to try out the Braun system of electric razors.
Below is a comparison between the various products based on a variety of categories. In my mind, some categories are weighted more than others (such as convenience or cleaning being much more important than noise or blade replacement) so the final winner may not be the one who wins the most categories.
Convenience
Braun: Very simple to use, turn on and shave, no need for cream. Works both wet and dry.
Norelco: Very simple to use, turn on and shave, no need for cream. Works both wet and dry.
Gillette: Pain the butt. Need a sink, need shaving cream, need a towel. If I have a shirt on I have to take it off, so no last minute shaving before work.
Winner: Braun & Norelco
Noise
Braun: Very loud compared to the Norelco. When shaving my cheeks it is especially loud in my ears.
Norelco: Surprisingly quiet for an electric razor.
Gillette: Almost none, but not a fair comparison.
Winner: Norelco
Heat
Braun: The Braun gets quite warm after some use.
Norelco: Always cool unless you are shaving a full beard or having a tough time on neck hair.
Gillette: You need heat for this to work. Shaving in the cold is not fun.
Winner: Norelco
Ease of use to travel
Braun: Simple. Put in case and stuff in bag. Very low profile.
Norelco: The shape make this a bit more annoying to pack. Sometimes I don’t put my razor in my toiletry bag due to the odd shape.
Gillette: Don’t bother. It’s not worth it.
Winner: Braun
Charging
Braun: Very quick.
Norelco: A bit slower than the Braun, from my observation. However, since I charge overnight I really don’t care as long as it takes less than 6 hours.
Gillette: Change battery, not a fair comparison.
Winner: Braun
Battery time before charges
Braun: 1-2 months, depending on shave frequency.
Norelco: 1-2 months, depending on shave frequency.
Gillette: N/A
Winner: 3 way tie
Cleaning
Braun: This is not a strong point for Braun. It seems like the hair gets stuck in the foil and to clean it properly it takes some effort or a little brush. I’m not a huge fan that the entire head area is one piece because it make it difficult to get into the nooks and crannies of the system.
Norelco: Extremely easy. Pop the top, run under the faucet, good as new. This is something that I’ve always enjoyed about Norelco.
Gillette: These blades are disposable, so obviously I run under the water after each shave, but they never really get clean like new again.
Winner: Norelco
Blade Replacement
Braun: Easy, pop top and replace.
Norelco: Easy, pop top and replace.
Gillette: Easy, pop top and replace.
Winner: 3 way tie
Cost
Braun: Expensive, but not bank breaking.
Norelco: Expensive, but not bank breaking.
Gillette: You would need to shave for many years to match the price of an electric razor, so for start up, Gillette is nice. However, shaving cream, replacement blades are just annoying because they constantly have to be replaced and stored.
Winner: Braun and Norelco. I think the cost is absolutely worth it.
Chance of cutting myself
Braun: Zero chance.
Norelco: Occasionally the edge of my lips if chapped
Gillette: Safety razor is safer, but not totally safe. I have definitely sliced open the bottom of my chin with this a few times
Winner: Braun
Shave - Cheeks
Braun: Absolutely wonderful. So smooth.
Norelco: Decent but not perfect, I feel like the circular fashion shaving technique is not as effective as the Braun’s straight technique.
Gillette: Perfectly smooth.
Winner: Braun and Gillette
Shave - Upper lip
Braun: Very nice, but the little stubble beneath my nose doesn’t fully disappear.
Norelco: The rotary design gets everything, including some of my nose hair!
Gillette: Terrible. I’m delinquent using a blade here. Almost every time I need to clean up this area with my Norelco.
Winner: Norelco
Shave - Chin
Braun: Does a nice job here, especially in the area below the upper lip.
Norelco: Does a slightly better job than the Braun, but I think that is because the 3 blades form a circle around the contours and gets on the skin better.
Gillette: Not as good as either of the electrics, mainly because this is where I normally end up cutting myself.
Winner: Norelco
Shave - Neck
Braun: Easily better than the Norelco when my neck is stretched out. A couple passes and I’m done
Norelco: This is probably where I spend 50% of my time with the Norelco. I need to take about 4 or 5 passes in this area before I am satisfied, and even then I find some random stubble occasionally. I think the Braun will be in my work drawer to fix these problems when I notice them after I leave the house.
Gillette: Perfect, the closest of them all
Winner: Gillette
Shave - Sideburns
Braun: Does a decent job, but I don’t like the design of the pop up. It feels a bit more awkward than the Norelco, or maybe I’m just too used to the way Norelco works.
Norelco: I like this pop out design. I’m able to really see what’s going on and I feel like the sideburn shave is just easier and more precise.
Gillette: Don’t bother, only do this with electric.
Winner: Norelco
Total Shave Time:
Braun: Very short.
Norelco: Short, but longer than the Braun by about 30 seconds.
Gillette: Way to friggin long. Wet face, apply cream, shave, wash face, dry with towel, examine face, fix up missed spots with electric.
Winner: Braun
Overall Winner:
Norelco, but by a very small margin. After using the Braun for a few months I don’t see me choosing it over my Norelco. I may be stuck in my ways, but the Norelco is just an overall better shave in my opinion.
However, I very much like the Braun and would absolutely recommend it to anyone. This is such a personal product and the system is obviously up to the user. I will be taking the Braun to work though, since it is good enough that if I’m in a real rush and can’t use my Norelco at home or just need a touch up, it will definitely do the trick.
My Gillette blade is used for special occasions or big work events, but I almost always touch that up with an electric, especially on the upper lip and the chin.
Overall, I am very pleased with the product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it was actually really helpful, i like the smaller part that flips up. was actually able to really clean the edges of my beard up. Then when i did actually shave i used it instead of a razor to clean my fave up. The charging station is nice, and also really easy to clean!

Braun Series 3 - Great little wet/dry shaver
on October 21, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a beard, so I was a little skeptical when asked to try a foil shaver, but I was pleasantly surprised at the versatility of the Braun Series 3. It was quiet, efficient, and the precision trimmer attachment on the back really rounded out its usefulness. I am impressed with how close of a shave this thing offered and would definitely give it the 5th star if it included some sort of beard trimmer (with guard) for those of us with more hairy faces.

Easily the best electric shaver I've ever used
on October 28, 2015

from Goddard, KS
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used the Braun Series 3 now for a couple of weeks, and I figured it couldn't be much different than any other electric shaver I've used for the past 20 years -- I mean, they have to be pretty comparable right??
Boy was I wrong! The Braun Series 3 blows my super expensive electric razor out of the water. I get a much closer shave, it's far easier to get tricky spots, and I'm not having to go over the same area again and again.
I've not had any sort of skin irritation like I've experienced with some of my other electric shavers. I figured I'd have to give my face a few days to "get used to" the new shaver, but that wasn't the case. No irritation.
I've even used the pop up trimmer for my sideburns and to have my wife trim the back of my neck between haircuts and it's done a great job without any feeling of hairs being pulled.
The shaver is super easy to keep clean! Another impressive area!
In summary, I expected to be just meh on the product...a shaver is a shaver. But Braun Series 3 changed my mind and this will replace my previous shaver. Easy to get a close shave that keeps me from looking scruffy half way through the day. Easy to charge and clean. Easy to see why I changed my mind!

Close shave shaver
on October 21, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shaver is at its best in giving a close shave. It has a adjusting button which can lower one of the foil so that you can adjust and target the areas difficult to shave such as above lips. The grip is very good and you are completely comfortable while shaving. The wet shave with cream is quite comfortable and i would suggest that as thats more comfortable than dry one.
I really liked it and grateful to Braun for giving me an opportunity to try it out free.
