The new unit replaced our previous GE microwave, virtually the same size with a 1000 watt capacity. The old unit gave us good service for about 10 years. While the new unit only has a 900 watt capability, we don’t find any significant difference in cooking times or food completion. My only criticism would be with the control panel. I think a little backlighting on the panel would make choices easier to see. The font could also be a bit larger.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does not work well - cooking time must be doubled.

I needed a small sized microwave to fit into a shelf that is 16" deep. There were not many options on the market. I selected this GE model because the size was right, it was a brand name I recognized and it has 900 watts of power (most of the other small microwaves have only 700 watts). I am very disappointed in this product. The description may ready 900 watts, but the power is definitely lower. I have to double the time that is written on product labels in order to cook the food. Even then the cooking is not even or thorough.. The edges get burnt and the center is still cold. I am now stuck with the microwave that doesn't do even the most basic of services.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If I could give it zero stars I would. 6 weeks old and sparks came out from behind the control panel. I bought it to replace a Kenmore that was 15 years old. We will be in touch with warranty department.
