Decent microwave for the price

I was looking to replace an old (2008) GE 700 watt microwave that was starting to take longer to cook items. I didn't want anything too high wattage wise or too expensive and spent a good bit of time looking at various reviews and websites of microwaves. I ended up deciding on this one for the decent wattage and price.
I don't really have any dislikes about the microwave so far aside from the plate being a little noisy when it is heating.
That's my reason for giving it 4 instead of 5 stars. But there's definitely a difference in how well this one cooks compared to our old GE microwave and overall I'm pretty impressed with it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this microwave because it was small enough (with required clearance) to be used in space we had, while still be big enough to fit a larger dinner plate for heating. It has fantastic features, everything we wanted in terms of setting, including "add 30 seconds" , express cook, and, most importantly, the option to turn off the sound. Performance, however, has not been impressive. It is less powerful than our former microwave so things take longer to heat -- we expected this, so no big deal. The thing that surprised us is how loud the microwave is when on! We were able to turn off the sounds, but not the sound of it working. So, it is fine, especially for the price, but ...it is loud!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The display does not light up. It’s impossible to see… honestly, how can you make a microwave where you can’t see?

The microwave works great. I was concerned it was too small, but everything I've needed to put in the microwave has fit and has cooked well. My only complaint is the unit is very loud.
