Simplicity with a Great Price

Compact is all we needed so we love the simplicity of the controls and choices. Food seems to cook faster than our old microwave! So far we have had a great experience with this model and we love the black stainless finish. Goes well with stainless and black appliances.

Front panel could use a light (similar to time display) to help read program display better.

Very noisy microwave oven

This microwave oven is a replacement for another GE microwave that was a higher quality and more expensive model. The previous one developed a problem with the door latch so that when I opened the door the fan started to run before selecting a setting. It was a much quieter model. This new oven is very loud when running. Closing the door is also noisy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you find that your new microwave door closes loudly or is harder to close than your previous model, the difference in the door noise is due to a firmer spring in the door latch; this is a normal condition for the microwave. Works well, no problems at all. Has a mute feature that turns off the alarm after cooking. A great feature!
