I bought this monitor to use on my laptop. Recommended by HP support. I liker trhe size and the set up was pretty easy.m I needed a monitor that connected using a HDMI cable so I bought this one. My one complaint is that the screen does not go completely dark or black in the background. There seems to be an annoying light coming up from the bottom of the screen which is quite distracting when using a black background. Charts are difficult to read in the lower 1/3 to 1/2 of the screen. This to me is very annoying. I tried to 'adjust' the settings for the monitor, and think I have it the best I can get it. Tech support would be great on trying to get the screen set up so it is all dark from top to bottom of the screen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought two of these for a home office. They are are perfectly fine for computer work, for me, mostly document-writing and presentation creation. They do not have speakers as far as I can tell. bare bones but a nice size and affordable!
