This is my first time transitioning from teflon to stainless steel. So far it has come to getting use to it by cooking on low fire and making sure we take care of the pots as soon as we use them.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a set of these pots. I bought them about 3 Christmas' ago. I love them and I'm so pleased, I am going to purchase two more sets. One will go to my daughter. I love consistency of sturdiness and the level of heat range.
I bought a set in around 2020 to replace the warped Revereware cookware (of 1970's era & of course, thier 'warranty' didn't cover warping, a very common problem) that didn't work on a glass cooktop. I have never regretted this purchase..Haven't used the skillets much as I don't care for fried foods. Everything still looks brand new. If cookware doesn't clean up well, I add HOT water & boil it, & then it cleans up perfectly. I use saucepans & steamer basket the most. Mostly handwash everything, very occasional dishwasher cleaned.
I just received this set of pans on April 29. Used today for lunch and they are great. Yes, I prepped appropriately, followed instructions and still had some sticking. So, here's what to do: option 1: make a pan sauce which is what I already intended. Once the tasty fond develops (browned bits), add some liquid (I added 1 cup of boiling water from the pan I was using to cook pasta), once the hot water was added, all of the browned bits lifted from the pan. Option 2: If not making a pan sauce, you can also add the extremely hot water to lift the stuck bits...be careful not to add cool water or you may have a self-inflicted problem. My husband also appreciates how shiny they are -- said he could probably use them as a mirror for shaving. ;-)
My husband and I decided on this set of cookware to start married life with. I couldn't be more pleased! I haven't had the chance to use all the pieces yet, but the several I have, have been fantastic. If we need to expand our selection of cookware in the future, Cuisinart will definitely make the top of the list. Definitely recommend!
I have purchased several pieces of individual pots. 2 of the pots have started to have the finish wear off on the bottom and are pitting. I still have and used my 60 year old Farberware pots that are in perfect condition. I am completely frustrated with the Cuisinart new pots.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
