Was hoping it would hold more vegetables and could stream them more quickly. My steamer basket does about the same time and holds slightly less than this. Also, simply cannot STAND the piercing alert tone. It should have a way to change the pitch. It literally hurts my and my dogs ears. Way too shrill.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve been searching for a steamer to replace my old worn out one. The Cuisinart one is a bit pricey but the fact that it’s not plastic and I do use it often helped to justify the cost. This is very well made and easy to use. It does take up more room than my old one but I’m very happy I made the decision to go with it.

I purchased the CookFresh Digital Glass Steamer on August 31, 2020, and began to use it from September, 2020 at a frequency of about once a week if not less frequently. The manual says use distilled or cold water. So I used the filtrated tap water (which was cold) most of the time, and sometimes used bottled water. However, only fewer than 7 months later, from late March of 2021, the steamer stopped working by producing a loud sound without blowing the steam into the pot. Unfortunately as a single working parent, I didn't have time to reach out to customer service but move on with the simplest steamer I had before.

I originally purchase this steamer to steam veggies but find myself wanting to steam everything in this! I love the way it looks on the counter and how precise it is with timing. I can also steam 2 large crab clusters at time which is pretty good :) I do notice a sort of cracking sound after steaming - I am thinking perhaps because of the heat? So far I have not had any mechanical issues and I like that it is really easy to clean. I would definitely recommend.
