We have had steamers for years. We use more than the microwave. Actually wear out the plastic parts about every other year. this one is wonderful. A bit big, but that means anything fits in it. We love it.

The best steamer on the market!!! My recommendation is to use distill water for prolong life of your steamer. I have old one and it’s working without any problems almost 6 years with daily use.

I am totally thrilled with my Cuisinart steamer. I do not normally write reviews, but I have relied on other reviews in the past that guided me with my purchases and this time it's my turn to write. In an effort to eat healthier meals, I selected a cookbook that suggested that I get an electric steamer, and I am so happy I did. It gives me the ability to steam my vegetables without any effort while I prepare the rest of the meal. The vegetables taste so much better and the green vegetables are green and not gray. The difference in the favor is amazing. Steel cut oatmeal is a staple in my diet and this steamer cooks it perfectly without me having to watch it and stir it and make sure it does not burn on the stove. I literally use my steamer once or twice everyday. Needless to add, I highly recommend it.
