Disappointed with the new Otterbox

I used to have a Moto X with the old style Otterbox with the rubber foam inner liner that covered all the connection inputs. It had fallen even into the bilge of the boat and protected the phone from water damage while submerged. The new style otter box while thin and sleek offers no such protection. Its just a plastic shell. Still looking for a case to replace the Otterbox if one is out there.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While none of our cases claim to have any sort of waterproof protection, it sounds like your previous Commuter series simply had it all. Good but not what I thought

I bought this under the impression that it was a complete "box" for my phone. I did not expect a rubber case that covered the back and around the sides. Disappointed with the misunderstanding. My life needs a case that is going to really cover the entire phone. Like a life prrof. Good for it's intended purpose I assume.

I bought this OtterBox because I have had used them before, and they are simply the best. My new phone is a little bit slippery and did not fit right in the carrying case. OtterBox fixed both of those issues. Now I don't have to worry about my phone slipping out of my hand or being a little bit loose in the carrying case.

The case itself seems alright. it's not as strictly ridged as other Otterbox cases I've seen and it doesn't feel as protective. It feels flexible when you take it out of the box. It takes on more rigidity when it's on the phone and seems to do a pretty good job. I don't have any recent trauma to attest to how well it protects the phone though.
