Nice to have out in the back country to send a quick message to my husband. Having the Garmin Earthmate app on my phone to bluetooth makes it easy to send a customized message when needed.

Back country communications

Having used this version and the previous version in the back country I can say without a doubt it's a very useful tool. Whether you need to get ahold of friends or give loved ones piece of mind or send an SOS you are still connected to the world when you need to be. Without this tool we would have had to hike an extra 5+ miles with 150packs. Because of this tool we were able to get ahold of a friend and they met at a new pickup location.

InReach Mini size was great clips right on jacket or back pack. Battery life seemed great for what we used for. Sending a text at the end of the day to let folks know we're ok. Garmin website was a little confusing at first set up with the mini, but I was able muddle through it. At first look with the Garmin app it would be nice to have a little better quality map. Overall glad to have purchased the Mini. Thx.

The Best GPS Communication Device

Light. Able to connect to my iPhone via an app and text whoever whatever. SOS button that is protected and I have not used. Used for tracking an ITT on the Colorado Trail and communicate with my wife. Also used for communication while hunting. I don't give out many 10s.

This is a great device that should be in everyone's kit. It is small enough that it can fit in a running vest or pack for skiing without noticing and adds an extra layer of convenience and safety to communication.

Great device to add extra level of safety

I've used this on a 5 day elk hunt. Battery life is pretty good about 3 days but I bring along a spare battery to charge my phone anyways. When paired with your phone it's very smooth to text and check the weather. I like the size very much. Using this with a gps on the phone is a great combination. My only complaint is that the subscriptions are kind of pricey. I do like the option that you can just use it monthly rather than requiring a annual membership. Overall I highly recommend.

Excellent improvement on the older style delorme inreach. The smaller device has all of the necessary functionality and pairs easily with a smartphone and garmin watch.
