Complicated, but uniquely useful tool.

There is a lot of memorization and practice to be able use this tool effectively when any emergency comes. I had an emergency and it was slow and awkward to use. They were very reluctant to dispatch help. Be sure to download the phone app to interface with it much easier.

Instruction lacking

I love the most thing about the Mini. What I find it lacks good basic instruction. There are a lot of Reviews and How to's out there. I have had a hard time figuring out how to put the basic information into it or in the app. Most just say 'up load', heck I don't know how to start to an up load and or where. I had to stumble through it. I can now send a pre sent message. Which means my wife will let me hike by myself. I have to go through the menu tree several times to make that happen. I am glad the SOS button is easy or I would be up a creek.

Good features

I was wanting the mini 2 but they did not have it in stock so I had to get the one it was pretty helpful on my Utah elk hunt, still would like to have gotten the 2 for the track back feature on the device itself

I have been using this hunting for a few weeks. When it works it is great. I live and hunt Alaska where I bought it, but the response times can be hours sometimes before receiving messages or before it actually sends the messages.

Used my mini this for a week in the Colorado High Country. No problems with sync or satellite connection. Communications were straight forward. Keeping this one.
