Not what I needed

I bought thinking it was a walk talking too, I returned because I am looking for a walk talking with a range at least of 100 miles and unfortunately I can’t find, I used to have the Nextel walk talking and I was hoping to find some thing like that, I was able to communicate with my employees here I’m

Great device

I got this unit for mountain biking and Moyer cycling so I have contact with the world if anything ever goes wrong. This little thing is amazing. Makes the wife feel safer

Expect to spend a lot of time researching

I bought this expecting an out of box and quick way to stay in touch with my wife when out of cell range. I have spent countless hours trying to figure out how to operate, sync, and use the so called phone complementary app Earth Mate. Some folks may find this an easy system to understand, but for an average non techie type, expect to spend lots of time learning how to use. It is NOT a plug and play system

support questionable

Bought some time ago for upcoming cross country trip, but just initiated 9/1/21. Evidently there were issues with Iridium network my entire trip according to all the texts i received from Garmin.

Good hiking resource

Recently purchased for hiking in the White Mountains. Easy to use. Provides great map backup. Great security in case an emergency is encountered.

Buggy!

Are unit may work great if you were able to download all the updates and several software packages to make it work with your iPhone. Don’t buy this off the shelf and expect it to work without a couple hours worth of effort on the computer.

Good for my Needs

Overall happy. I carry for emergency use. Would like to do some texting but Garmin's plans are some of there most expensive if you don't want unlimited. Test the service as early as you can, as it often takes up to 30min to confirm. I assume that emergency use is not so slow.

If you recreate or work out of cell service this is a must. Easy GUI, multiple service plan levels, and an "oh no" button to save your life. This product is worth it just for the peace of mind let alone convenience of comms and weather updates
