Love it!!

My husband purchased this device last year for my B-Day. We live in a dead zone for LTE/4G/5G or WIFI, outside of our property. The inReach is the perfect device to keep in touch with him as I go on my Runs/Walks outside our property.

Good battery life, but poor performance

Okay So my Daughter camps alot in the sierras with her boyfriend, so I wanted her to have a way to let me know hows shes doing up there, So I watched this hiking guy rant and rave about the mini. So I bought one, I signed up for the service and fully charged it. My daughter and I tested sending the standard messages while at home in anaheim Ca. but when she got to her destination, the town of Cajon in the sierras it wouldnt work! It never could locate a GPS signal! Im just glad she wasnt headed to mount baldy like last time. Luckily her Garmin Phenix watch was able to send location info or I would never have known where she was! I bought this because it is supposed to use mutiple systems anywhere in the world,So dissapointed! I wanted to purchase several more for our GoBags if it had worked but now I will look for something else.

Great for getting my exact Lang and Lat and also for sending my position to track my hikes and auto highway routes. Best thing is that I have an SOS I can use when hiking in places that don't have cell service. Great piece of mind!

Was given this as a Christmas gift with the hopes of being able to communicate with home while out of bounds in the deep woods of Maine while snowmobiling. Perhaps it’s me but use ability is confusing at best even after paying for most expensive monthly fee.

Peace of Mind at a Reasonable Cost

I received this as a Christmas gift and have been pretty happy with it overall. The cost is reasonable and I like the fact that you can pay by the month so that you only pay for the months you need/want. I also like the fact that I can send texts -- both custom and canned texts that you can create. My only issue is that navigating on the device itself is very clunky even for what you're supposed to be able to do with it. Using the phone is much easier, but I haven't quite figured out how to use all of the features on the phone yet. Still, for the price, this is peace of mind for both me and my wife -- even if I'm out backpacking with someone else.

Definitely works

I received my Garmin Mini for Christmas! My first hike in January, I had to use it. I sprained my ankle on a 7 mile hike. The trail was covered with trees and hard to see hikers. I used the SOS and was able to reach someone instantly. They also knew my exact coordinates because of the Garmin. I unfortunately had to be airlifted off the mountain. My family was also notified of what had happened and updated. I will never hike without this. So thankful to have had it at the time.
