Poor performance

Messages go to the wrong people and at least half the time take several hours to go through. All three of the inreach products performed poorly on our backpacking trip.

Bought it while on a trip heading to backcountry of Colorado and thought it would be a better fit than the larger in-reach models. Not only was the Bluetooth connection between the garmin and cell slow but the battery on the mini garmin goes by really fast. Returned it within one week and bought the 66si instead for better user capabilities.

Back Country Piece of Mind

Still learning all this Garmin InReach Mini is capable of. We do a lot of backpacking, hiking and skiing, so this was a must purchase for us. We have other Garmin devices and have had zero performance issues or concerns with their devices. Hoping we never need to use this, but glad we have it if necessary.

Poor battery life

Battery lasted less than 30 hours and that was while it was idle - not tracking etc. I used the weather once a day. It was very slow linking up.

Very handy

I purchased the mini 3 weeks ago for a solo bow hunting trip in an area known for a large amount of grizzly bears. The mini gave me peace of mind for help getting to me. The thing I did not expect was the easy way to send messages home through my phone. This was a great feature I did not know about until I was bored in camp one night.

Pretty good

Reassuring to have this device. Generally like it. But its annoying to be at 10k plus and be exposed to half the sky and still get notification there is poor GPS strength. What happens if I have a compound fracture down in the bottom of a canyon?

Bought this for family trekking over and around the continental divide little expensive but put a price in safety and reliability

Peace of mind

Myself and two hunting partners were able to be in contact with our families while we were away on a remote hunting trip the added security of SOS also a plus
