Never had so much trouble activating a device. Too many problems to list here. Took me several hours to get it all sorted out.

Does what it needs to do

I purchased the mini mainly to be inyouch in case of emergency while out on the trail or lack thereof. The mini pairs easily with your smart phone. No complaints so far.

Peace of mind

I purchased this as a means to communicate with family and contact emergency services if necessary. I travel a lot off grid on an adventure motorcycle. This is the best reviewed and smallest unit I could find. I purchased it for peace of mind while adventuring and it allows for me to explore farther and always know that I have a means of communication.

Piece of mind on the trail

Great little gadget and absolutely packed with features for its size. Will use it mainly for emergency communications and checking in with loved ones when outside of cell coverage. If I want fancier navigation features, Ill get a fancier navigation device. This device is small enough to go on any adventure, and adds the piece of mind that I can connect to the outside world even in the most remote areas. Seamless bluetooth pairing with my iPhone, it connects right when the inReach is turned on and I can keep the inReach clipped to the back of my pack and use the earthmate app on my phone to peruse all the messaging and navigation features without ever having to touch the inReach.

More than expected

Slow...Don’t trust it much

I run long distances a one and out of cell range. As an older guy my wife is more comfortable knowing I have a way to get help in a dire emergency. I text her before I start...then again when I am done. Problem is, sometimes it takes upwards of 2 hours for her to get a text. Makes me wonder if the SOS feature would have the same lag. I still carry it because it makes her feel better...but I personally do not trust it as the lags seem to be getting more common.

Great device
