My wife bought this for me before my trip to Mexico so I could check in with her on occasion when I am in sketchy spots....then I went to Alaska on another trip....just being able to check in with he has made my time away MUCH easier on her.....wish I had one earlier!

Garmin mini

Bought my garmin inreach mini after getting my vehicle stuck in the roads. Spent the night in the woods because we had no cell service. I used the mini to locate my son and his family after they got stuck in some mud in a turn around area. I won’t leave home without my Garmin mini we have very limited cell service where we live.

Important piece of kit that goes on every adventur

I work in Forestry and am regularly out of service for work, daily the in reach allows me to stay in touch while at work. On the weekends and evenings I’m out hiking, hunting or out relaxing at camp where there is no service, I like the peace of mind that having the in reach provides. The other features like tracking and mapping are very handy too

Bought this for communicating with my hunting partner and family at home while in remote locations. My Inreach Mini performed great. Allowed easy contact with my hunting partner and piece of mind in case of an emergency.

Difficult

I liked the idea of being able to communicate via the IPhone but was not able to set it up. Ultimately I found out that it wasn’t compatible or at least that’s what it said when I tried to link up the Mini with the Garmin App on my phone. It consumed a lot of my time and ultimately returned the device. If someone knows how to make this happen, someone should make a You Tube video! Ultimately, I took back the device and obtained a refund

Amazing device, small package.

This is an amazing little device that is simplistic in the best ways. It has all the features you need for single day to multi-week hikes, camping, skiing, etc

One of the best emergency communicators

Out of all the emergency communicators available, the garmin inreach family is quite simply the best. Within that family, the inreach mini and newer mini 2 are the best lightweight options that exist. the device is lightweight, small, has multiple attachment options, and is very durable. The programs for updates and syncing are relatively lightweight while still being feature rich, allowing for surface level operation or advanced use. The device has good tracking and communication abilities with its limited control surfaces as well.
