this set [baseplate] is very useful, in fact VERY BENDY, you would have to put a very large surface under it, here are pros. and mons:
PROS. #1. it is very good for building sets on with family #2. good for putting LEGO boxes on
MONS. #1. baseplate is so thin and wide it could snap #2. bottom looks very odd [LOL]

I love the size of this baseplate. It's worked great for several projects. The only issue I have with it is the color. Unfortunately most of my projects would turn out better if the baseplate also came in green.

These plates are awesome for creating cities towns villages and even woods and zoo's. They are rather pricey, but if you are a true Lego creator you know you need the as a base or place to start!!! Love them!!

This baseplate is a thin piece of junk. If you mount your creation on it don't plan to move it, it will bend and flex like a wet noodle. It mike'd at barely 0.050 of an inch, you would think for $15 they could of added a little plastic to them. By comparison, a regular LEGO baseplate that comes in the sets are at least 0.120 to 0.125 of an inch.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You are correct in noticing that the baseplate is thin and not designed to be moved around once there is a build on it. The baseplate is designed to be the base of the model and we suggest that this item is placed on a table of flat surface while building. Many builders who move their creations around will use regular LEGO plates (these are the thin LEGO elements that come in every set and are available in multiple sizes) but the baseplate is designed to be a base and not be moved around.
I am sorry for the confusion that this has created and want you to know that you can always call Consumer Services if you need help buying plates rather than baseplates going forward.

I wish these would be available in a 10x10 format. I'm trying to buy for my sons and know they would be bothered when they don't "fit" together.
