Love it, the minifigures are great and I think that the theme is superb. Nice to have an affordable Ideas Set as well.

Pioneers finally immortalised in bricks!

This is an excellent set, three small dioramas with four figures. The booklet describes the pioneering exploits of Nancy Roman, Margaret Hamilton, Sally Ride and May Jemison, which I found very interesting.
The minature models of the Space Shuttle and Hubble Space Telescope are cleverly designed and look very realistic. All the pieces with special details are printed; I especially like Margaret's blackboard and Nancy's Cone Nebula presentation, and the solar panels for Hubble. The figures are well-detailed and unique in terms of their faces and costumes (as far as I can tell).
All-in-all, a great set that is fun to build, educational and hopefully inspirational to any young budding female scientists out there!

Had a great time assembling this set and it looks fantastic next to my Saturn V set. I find it is extremely important to keep bringing up sets with women as role models in their real life jobs!!

Not all of the LEGO Ideas sets have hit home for me, but this little wave of real-life space sets we've had now, with the Saturn V, the Curiosity rover and now this has been really refreshing. This set manages to honour four very important women in the science of space travel with just over 200 pieces. It is very well designed, it's simple and it puts the focus on the people and what they did. This set is a wonderful thing, we need do see more like this one.

Contreversial in my book

So I just got this set for my birthday and it was a surprise. Personally, while this still reflects female 'heroes' it sounds a bit like seperating genders. Of course its not as offensive as friends sets which are pretty much 90% pink 100% of the time. I still think there should be a set about the real world that makes people actually seem EQUALLY.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Every set provides a different experience from play to display piece. While this set did not appeal to you, I hope you are able to find one of the other 400 sets currently available appealing.
It is also important to recognize that not every set will appeal to every builder. Perhaps there is that perfect set waiting for you still.

Where is Christa McAuliffe?
on November 1, 2017

I guess I’m a little disappointed that Christa McAuliffe wasn’t included and honored for service and ultimate sacrifice in this set. I realize the intent to focus on the positive, but she was a teacher first and a very positive role model. Especially for young women at that time.
