I was a devoted to my electric coffee pot. When it broke, I decide to try out the Cuisinart 14 cup coffee pot. I was so happy with it, I bought another one for my vacation home. It is so easy to use and the coffee taste wonderful. I only am sorry it took so long for my original coffee pot to break. LOL!

We have been using this coffeemaker for three months and are very pleased with its brewing quality and the function of the unit. The features that we like best are the (1) water filter (2) the brewing complete audible indicator (3) the bold selection for stronger coffee and (4) the low, medium and high warming temperature selection. On timer and off timers are easy to program and work correctly. We pour water into the reservoir with a Brita container which obscures the view of the water level indicator while pouring. The correlation between the water level indicator and the actual amount of coffee brewed is better than previously owned coffee makers. We use paper filters with medium ground coffee. We grind with our two year old DBM-8 Cuisinart grinder which works well but needs to be cleaned occasionally when blockages occur. The stainless steel looking plastic housings of both our Cuisinart coffee maker and grinder are easy to clean with a damp cloth and look good with our stainless steel appliances. As other reviewers have mentioned, the various parts of the unit appear to be more flimsy (made with thinner materials) than older units but that is typical of most products made today. For instance, the basket is significantly less sturdy than older models and bends when removed. I am concerned that it will not last long and I have decided to not disturb the basket and just try to remove the paper filter without spilling the used coffee grounds. My optimistic hope is that the thinner materials currently used in today's products are stronger the older sturdier appearing materials. In addition, if a product breaks prematurely, it gives you the opportunity to purchase a newer one with better features.

So far it’s been very dependable. I love how easy it is to preset for the next morning. My old one took longer to preset because there was more parts to rinse. 2 minutes the night before and I wake to the aroma of fresh coffee. Nothing bettter
