I don't know what model number it was. I returned several Cuisinart coffeemakers for the lack of the Tone or beeping sound when the brewing was done. This is one feature that I wanted but they all failed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall, I like my new Cuisinart 14 Cup Programable Coffeemaker. It replaced an older Cuisinart coffeemaker that stopped working after about eight years. The design change I noticed between the two is that a vent hole was added to the rear of the top lid which allows steam to escape during the brew cycle. I have to be conscious of this since I keep my coffeemaker under my overhead kitchen cabinets. During brewing, I now have to pull it from under said cabinets so that steam doesn't collect on the underside of the cabinet which would damage it. A little cumbersome but manageable.
