This coffee maker replaced our old Cuisinart coffee maker that lasted 13 years. This one is a little bigger and the heating mechanism has three different levels (low, med, hot) while the last one only had two. It tends to keep the coffee hotter.

Classy looks, full functions. It’ll last a few years especially if you descale with 50% vinegar and water now and then as per instructions. I recently got the white version, very elegant. I recommend cleaning the white lid and carafe shortly after finishing the pot to keep the white plastic from staining.

The Carafe needs redesign:
- the numbers are too small,
- does not empty completely into the machine (the machine lid gets in the way);
- the lid must be taken on and off each time, a hinge would be much better

This was a replacement for the same model that stopped working after about 3 years. Although I am disappointed that it only lasted 3 years it does make a reliably good pot of coffee time after time. I'm hoping it will last longer than 3 years.
