While the 14 cups coffemaker works great from the first day, I had been frustrated with its leaky spillover when trying to pour coffee with at least 10 cups water level. After contacting Cuisinart about it, they quickly sent a replacement glass carafe, and it solved the spillover problem.

Makes great copy and easy to use. The special pot helps the coffee from getting bitter even after sitting for awhile. I had one before this one and when it went bad I knew I had to get another.

Makes great coffee from 4 - 14 cups. Has a button for teeing 1-4 cups, or just turn on for more. Has automatic shutoff, which is programmable to you choice.

A few weeks after purchase it has started making horrible rattling noises. I was so excited that it had the option to turn off the beep which woke me in the morning. The noise it is making now is so much worse than a beep.

I had the earlier model coffee maker for probably over a dozen years and it worked great. I use my coffee maker nearly daily so I was very impressed at the longevity of the machine (though I did have to replace the carafe a couple times, my fault). I bought this latest model and I am hoping for near-similar longevity. I would have paid extra for a model that held water in non-plastic (such as glass) and brewed in non-plastic (such as metal). Instead, they changed the old white outside for a metal outside - wrong place to replace plastic in my opinion. My only problem so far is the new carafe - I need to be very slow and careful when pouring so it does not spill which was not the case with the old design.

I have purchased Cuisinart coffeemakers previously and when it was time to buy a new pot, I immediately wanted another one. This pot is basic (no grinder or 2nd pot) but I like that I can make the temperature hot and keep the coffeemaker on for 4 hour segments.
