Using the Bold setting makes a terrific pot of coffee! This is the second of this style of Cuisinart coffee brewer I’ve used. I admit I went for this model for it’s classy color, as well as its reputation and my past positive experience. I use the ‘1-4 cups’ and Bold settings, and turn the burner temperature up to high- this makes a hot, strong pot of coffee! Using the Bold setting does slow down the brew time, so if I’m in a hurry I’ll sacrifice a little strength for speed (still a great cup of coffee). The whole unit is super easy to clean. And it’s quiet. And easy to program.

This is an easy-to-use, traditional coffee pot that looks nice. I'm not too keen on the mesh basket for coffee grounds, so I still insert a paper filter. Also, it is not convenient to have the lid without a hinge. It cannot be opened with a simple press of the thumb, making a quick rinse of the pot a tad clumsy. You are obliged to snap off the lid. Otherwise I am glad I bought this coffee pot.

This makes very good coffee and it looks really good. A nice partner to the gold toaster. But there's no discernible difference between Bold and regular settings.

Makes great coffee and looks good setting on the counter to boot.
Lots of great features. Absolutely love the ability to turn off the heat plate after brewing. No burnt coffee in our house. Our last Cuisinart (grind and brew) lasted 7 years, so I have high hopes for durability. This model is much easier to clean so that's a bonus. I also like the tapered design of the filter basket. Requires less coffee to achieve the same flavor. The increase from 12 to 14 cups is appreciated as well.
The only knock I'll give it is I can't tell a difference in the coffee with our without the bold feature activated. I would say that's a pretty minor con.

We had a previous model and our glass holder broke and when we went to order the holder, it made sense to order a new one as we had it for 5 years! The new one is just like the older model and love this machine! Great BOLD choice to make the coffee stronger and love the program to have the coffee ready and hot in the morning! Also love the alert button to clean and just follow instructions and your machine could last you a long time and I'm hoping we have another 5 years with our new one!
