I would give this machine 16 stars if I could, except the glass carafe is soooooo breakable. Please address this, Cuisinart!!! The carafe alone can be replaced, but it is expensive to do so. Otherwise this machine makes the best coffee, it's fast, it's high-quality, the coffee is fresh tasting and clean, and it is nice and hot.

This is the first/only coffeemaker I've seen that makes more than 12 cups - the feature than convinced me to buy it. I found several features to love about it - having a choice of holding temp (low/med/hi), choice of regular/bold brew strength, and small (1-4cup) quantity option. The only drawback is that you need to carefully measure the ground coffee used; even then the grounds may splash above the filter/basket. This is due to the #4 filter (std. for 12-cup models) not being as tall as the outer coffee filter holder for this 14-cup model. This is a small inconvenience as it makes a good tasting cup and the extra capacity is a real convenience for the coffee drinkers at my house. Yes, I would recommend it.

Good coffee maker. The exact same model lasted three years before needing to be replaced. We figure that's OK since we use it EVERY day. Could not live without the timer. Makes good tasting coffee, which implies the water is sufficiently hot as it drips over the ground coffee.
