I have owned two of these. The bottom heating element reliably fails after two years. Almost like it has a timer on it. Up until then, it makes great coffee.

We purchased this coffee maker because we have had one like it for many years and wanted a new one. No other makers we could find were as capable as this model.

Poor brewing

The machine looks lovely. My coffee always tastes burnt, it doesn’t matter the roast of coffee or what temperature the warming plate is on. It constantly tastes burnt. I have tried cleaning it, that doesn’t help either. When you use the brew button the machine guves one less cup than what you put in. For instance you put in 6 cups (machine measured markings) you will only get 5 cups in the carafe. I thought some water was staying in the grounds, so I tried with no coffee and same thing. The machine gives one less cup in the carafe than what you put into the reservoir.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
