This coffeemaker makes a better cup of coffee than my last 12 cup Cuisinart did. Hope it lasts longer than three years.
This pot has a better designed lid whereby there is no water dripping down the side of the coffeemaker while filling the water reservoir.

Hotter Coffee. Loaded with Features and Affordable

A complete machine that now delivers hotter coffee that is affordable really appealed to me. A few discoveries: if the filter holder isn't set just right, the coffee may not drip through. You have to make sure that you haven't locked the filter holder down so firmly that coffee can't drop through. Also, if both of the selections Bold and 1 - 4 Cups are selected at the same time, the coffee may not drip through. Also. based on internet research, it appears that Cuisinart defines one cup as 5 ounces. My brand of ground coffee uses 6 ounces. My measuring cup defines it as 8 ounces.

I've had a 12 cup Cuisinart for five years, have never had a problem with it, and will keep it for a backup. I purchased the new Cuisinart for the larger carafe. So far it is working as good as my older one, and hopefully will do so for the next five years.

I bought this machine looking for a better cup of coffee. I got it. However, it is important to note that you need to use the filter, filtered water and, of course, good coffee to get it. I like that I can make 4 cups, which I usually do, or 14 cups when necessary. I used the included filter basket for awhile and am trying disposable filters soon. The filter basket is not hard to clean, charcoal filter is easy to change. There is a button for 1-4 cups brewing which I like. I have not used the auto on feature. There is a button telling you when to descale which has not yet been necessary. I like the machine, I get good coffee without a lot of hassle, not too expensive, life is good.

We bought this to replace a KitchenAide that finally stopped working after 7 years. Since the reviews didn’t compel us to purchase a newer model, we decided to try another Cuisinart, which we owned prior to the KitchenAide. This model is great, but we really wish they would redesign the lid so water wouldn’t drip down the back of the unit when the lid is opened.
The other features are really great, especially the timed shutoff, which we’ve set for 4 hours. We are big coffee drinkers! We also like the temperature control settings and it’s also easy to fill with water!
