I got this in a hurry and have not been disappointed. I really think the charcoal filter helps with the taste. I also like the fact that I can tell it I want my coffee "bold", and that i am only making 4 cups and not a full pot. I am not sure how that matters, but it is an option. I have not used the automatic timer, but likely will at some point in time. I really like the color too. It is a dark brushed nickel shade - not a color I have seen before. I will keep the directions because I am not sure I'll remember how to do everything -

We recently replaced our coffeemaker with this gem. I have been very pleased with the unit so far. The large carafe holds 14 cups and keeps the coffee HOT so much better than any other coffeemaker we have owned. My only complaint is it is difficult to pour the water into the well with out spilling it on the countertop. It has to be poured in VERY slowly or it spills down the side. All in all, this is a wonderful appliance and I would recommend it.

This brewer makes great coffee! I usually make 12 cups, and have found that, with the Bold feature, I use the same amount of grounds as I did with my previous 10-cup coffee maker. Caveat to users: make sure to push the Filter Basket completely into the Filter Basket Holder - you will hear and/or feel a "click"; if it is not pushed down all the way, the coffee will overflow the basket and make a mess. The programmability is nice - I like that I can suppress the Ready Tone, and use the Auto Off feature.
